Created by former <strong>Titanfall<\/strong> and <strong>Apex Legends<\/strong> developers, Highguard reached <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/steamdb.info\/app\/4128260\/charts\/#1w\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a peak player count of 97,249<\/a><\/strong> shortly after launch, before numbers declined.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"esi-paragraph \">\n<p>Wildlight Entertainment quickly acknowledged player feedback, with the permanent addition of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/esportsinsider.com\/2026\/02\/highguard-5v5-mode-is-now-permanent\">a five-versus-five mode<\/a><\/strong> and the introduction of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/esportsinsider.com\/2026\/02\/highguard-episode-2-ranked-mode-new-warden\">a ranked mode<\/a><\/strong> for those looking for a competitive experience.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"esi-paragraph \">\n<p>\u201cToday we made an incredibly difficult decision to part ways with a number of our team members while keeping a core group of developers to continue innovating on and supporting the game,\u201d wrote Wildlight Entertainment <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/WildlightEnt\/status\/2021745168387596450\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">on social media<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"esi-paragraph \">\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re proud of the team, talent, and the product we\u2019ve created together.
