PGL unveils Tier 1 CS2 calendar for 2027 and 2028

Esports tournament organiser PGL has unveiled its full slate of Tier 1 Counter-Strike 2 events taking place throughout 2027 and 2028.

Seven events will take place in 2027, while 2028 will feature eight events held between January and November.

For 2027, PGL will host events between January and October in addition to the official English broadcast of the CS Asia Championship 2027 scheduled from August 17th to 29th.

In total, the tournament organiser will host 14 Counter-Strike 2 events in 2027 and 2028, adding to what’s already becoming a packed calendar over the next three years.

“These events reinforce PGL’s commitment to delivering top-tier esports experiences and add even more excitement to the 2027 competitive calendar,” said PGL in a release. “Together, these events mark a milestone year for PGL, representing one of the most ambitious competitive calendars in Counter-Strike history.”

Throughout 2025, PGL has continued to reveal information surrounding its upcoming events. In July, the tournament organiser unveiled PGL Astana 2026, taking place from May 7th to 18th, 2026. The event will feature a $1.6m (~£1.2m) prize pool, with the Playoffs heading to the Barys Arena.

The PGL CS2 event schedule is as follows:

2027

  • Event #1 – January 15th to 25th
  • Event #2 – February 11th to 22nd
  • Event #3 – March 17th to 29th
  • Event #4 – April 14th to 26th
  • English broadcast of CS Asia Championship 2027 – August 17th to 29th
  • Event #5 – September 1st to 13th
  • Event #6 – October 6th to 18th

2028

  • Event #1 – January 14th to 24th
  • Event #2 – February 9th to 21st
  • Event #3 – March 22nd to April 3rd
  • Event #4 – April 19th to May 1st
  • Event #5 – August 16th to 28th
  • Event #6 – August 31st to September 11th
  • Event #7 – October 4th to 16th
  • Event #8 – November 1st to 13th

CS2’s Calendar Takes Shape

PGL is among several tournament organisers unveiling its event calendar for the next few years, adhering to Valve’s Tournament Operation Rulebook.

In July, BLAST unveiled dates for its BLAST Premier 2026 and 2027 seasons, while the Esports World Cup announced it will host a Counter-Strike 2 event as part of its 2027 event.

For 2028, ESL recently unveiled its 2028 Pro Tour calendar, featuring six Tier 1 events between January and November.
