Ludwig Sandgren, the former owner of GODSENT, has criticised the handling of the esports organisation’s bidding process when finding a potential buyer.
The Swedish organisation entered bankruptcy in September due to financial struggles following the loss of a sponsor.
On November 3rd, 2025, Ludwig Sandgren confirmed reports of GODSENT filing for bankruptcy in addition to announcing his departure from the esports industry.
Sandgren also shared his concerns for the future of the organisation he founded in 2016, claiming the new owners aren’t equipped to oversee the operations of GODSENT.
“I am not happy with how the bidding process has been handled,” said Sandgren in a LinkedIn post.
“Professional and credible parties of international stature who I coordinated with wanted to purchase the brand – people I would have trusted to carry the legacy. They reached out to the estate in good time but were never contacted or allowed to participate in the bidding.”
Over the past nine years, GODSENT has managed to establish itself as one of Sweden’s notable esports organisations. Its Counter-Strike roster managed to win several Tier 2 events, including WePlay Forge of Masters Season 2 in 2019.
“Now, GODSENT has been sold to someone I fear has no relevant experience or resources in esports,” added Sandgren. “We reached out in good faith, offering to buy it back for more than what was paid, but the new owner refuses to communicate.”
What Next For GODSENT?
With a new owner at the helm of GODSENT, it’s unclear what the future holds for the organisation. Its X account hasn’t posted since January 20th and has distanced itself from fielding rosters in any titles.
In January, it was reported that GODSENT was seeking a return to Counter-Strike with the acquisition of the former Bad News Eagles roster. Plans to field the roster under its banner never took off.
