TL;DR
- Arc Raiders has confirmed a roadmap featuring both November and December content updates.
- November’s North Line update will include a new map, Stella Montis, and a community unlock event.
- December’s update will include a new map condition with snow and a new Flickering Flames event.
- New Matriarch and Shredder Arc enemies are arriving in November.
- Embark has committed to ongoing QoL, cosmetics, feats, trials, and more
Arc Raiders has had a fantastic launch, maybe even beyond Embark’s best hopes. Yet, with a huge influx of eager players comes server stress and high expectations. For $40, the title offers a good amount of value to raiders going Topside. And as a looter shooter, it’s good to see a content roadmap already available for a view of future updates.
As with Battlefield 6, a quickly arriving Arc Raiders roadmap assures there is plenty more to come. After all, beyond the fun and repetition of Arc Raiders’ current state, fresh content will be needed. Extraction shooters require in-round variety and forward-thinking additions. Embark appears to be well ahead of such concerns, though, as we see below.
Arc Raiders roadmap for 2025 (summary)

On October 31, just a day after Arc Raiders’ release date, the 2025 Roadmap was made official. The roadmap indicates a solid commitment to ongoing concerns. But Embark has also provided a peek at specific November and December updates, with each promising all-new excitement, even for the most dedicated Raider.
November’s update is called “North Line”, delivering a map, an event, new Arc, new quests, and new “gameplay items”. Following on from North Line, will be the aptly named December update, “Cold Snap”. This will bring with it a new snowy map condition, a new event, an Expedition Window, a new Raider Deck, and new quests. We’ll cover these in detail further down, after the list of ‘ongoing’ items in the Arc Raiders roadmap.
Ongoing content in Arc Raiders
Absolutely critical for the game is that it continues to tick over and remain engaging even outside of specific updates. Interestingly, Embark has listed new map conditions among the ‘ongoing’ list. These are still relevant for larger updates (like Cold Snap), but a simple change of ‘weather’ or terrain can substantially shift visuals and engagement.
Given the unpredictability of life Topside, adding new feats and trials for Raiders to accomplish is another boost, limited only by imagination. These can power Arc Raiders gameplay outside of larger content updates. Meanwhile, new cosmetics will never not be interesting as new additions to the game’s retro-futuristic wardrobe debut.
None of these is as critical as QoL (quality of life) updates, though. It’s unclear what cadence Embark will use for minor updates. However, general improvements and the removal of bugs, like those spotted in our Arc Raiders review, reflect good housekeeping for a title with (hopefully) a long future ahead of it.
North Line explained

The first Arc Raiders update for sizable content will be North Line. It’s seemingly named after the direction of expansion of humanity’s underground ‘tube network’. This is supported by Stella Montis, the northernmost map location listed in Calabretta. We can see it now, before the update, in the map selection screen; it’s marked as ‘coming soon’.
This slight reveal isn’t new for Embark: The Arc Raiders developer provided access to Dam Battlegrounds for the pre-release server slam, while marking the other maps to be unlocked on full release. According to the in-game description, “No one knows what awaits” in Stella Montis. New quests related to the map are guaranteed, though, as are new enemies.
That’s right, North Line will unveil the Matriarch and Shredder. Each sounds concerning and highly ominous, in keeping with current Arc naming conventions. If one of the core Arc Raiders features for updates is devastating PVE threats, then great! Will they be linked to a community event arriving with North Line? Perhaps. The ‘new gameplay items’ may help.
Cold Snap

It’s not yet clear how Arc Raiders will handle events. However, the North Line’s “community unlock event” could be linked to the overarching story, even transitioning into ‘Cold Snap’. Whether that happens or not, there is a new Flickering Flames event in the Cold Snap update. This isn’t a ‘community unlock’ event, though, suggesting a different tack here.
What’s intriguing is that Arc Raiders will deliver Flickering Flames alongside a snowfall map condition. This juxtaposition is compelling, not least because snowfall should make the game look great, particularly if offset by dramatic fiery instances (however that is implemented).
New quests will be added once more, as will a new raider deck for cosmetic unlocks.
Still, likely most important for players beyond level 20 in Cold Snap is the Expedition Window opening in December. Projects represent Arc Raiders’ handling of wipes, the Expedition Project being the first. For these story-driven projects, players will have a phase to commit resources and build the projects before finalization.
Then, every eight weeks, players can opt to finalize projects and ‘wipe’. This wipe keeps cosmetics, awards, and achievements, while resetting levels, skills, items, inventory, and workshop. But all existing maps will remain unlocked. The Cold Snap Expedition Window is the time to finalize this wipe, and the window will be open from December 15 to 20.
Conclusion
There’s plenty to come then! New Arc Raiders content will be arriving in November and December, with items, enemies, a map, and a new map condition, plus two events and the first ‘wipe’. Embark title has hit the ground running, rolling, and sliding around all expectations, and looks to continue in fine form, with QoL improvements promised too.
As the lore is expanded and the world beyond the Rust Belt is revealed, experienced and novice raiders should find plenty to enjoy. The details of the events and new enemies are yet to be discovered, but we’ll keep our eyes open for additional updates. For now, it’s time for another run, Topside.
FAQs
Is Arc Raiders free?
No. Arc Raiders is not free, although it did start life planned as being free-to-play. This premium title costs $40 for the standard edition.
Is the Arc Raiders roadmap free?
Yes, it seems so. Once you have purchased the base edition of Arc Raiders, the content roadmap seems to be free to access. Paid-for additional content has not been mentioned as yet by developers, Embark.
Is Arc Raiders worth it?
We think so! A genre-blending extraction title that has elements of adventure, RPG, and battle-royale games, we really like it. Steam reviews are mostly positive, too.
Does Arc Raiders’ progress carry over?
Yes, your Arc Raiders progress can carry over if you do not want to wipe your character at the end of the title’s eight-weely ‘Projects’ cycle. However, it is unclear whether a mandatory wipe will be needed in the game’s future.
