Hero trailers and gameplay have been drip-fed ever since it was announced, and players will get to try it for themselves soon through the closed alpha.
Thus far, the Invincible VS roster consists of 10 characters, although Skybound Games is reportedly aiming for a roster of 15 – 20 in total. There are plenty of Invincible characters fans would like to see, and the road leading up to release promises to be an intriguing one.
Invincible VS closed alpha
The Invincible VS closed alpha will take place from November 21 to November 24 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Still, a major chunk of the Invincible VS heroes have been announced and will be available for those signing up to the closed alpha.
The game was announced in June 2025, so the turnover for the closed alpha has been a quick one. It should be noted that the alpha won’t come to all the Invincible VS platforms, and the Steam version of the game will be available with the full release, coming sometime in 2026.
With that said, let’s take a closer look at the Invincible VS closed alpha and all the characters that will be available for it.
Invincible VS closed alpha: Every hero confirmed
Invincible

It wouldn’t be an Invincible fighting game without Invincible himself. Mark Grayson is made to be the balanced, safe option for the game, with rushdown capabilities, great mobility, and is able to convert almost every hit into a combo. He’s built to be the quintessential fighting game protagonist.
He’s the least surprising addition to the game and gets to showcase his Viltrumite heritage and some of his best animated show moments with his moves. He first appeared in Invincible #1 in 2003.
Atom Eve

It shouldn’t be surprising that Atom Eve is the second name in the Invincible VS roster. Samantha Eve Wilkins doesn’t have as balanced a moveset, with her ranged attacks making her a mid-ranged zoning character built around applying pressure from afar.
Her bright pink constructs are used throughout her moveset, and her mobility, thanks to her hovering, will make her tough to pin down. Eve first appeared in Invincible #2 in 2003.
Bulletproof

It’s a little surprising to see Bulletproof as the third name on the roster, considering how he’s largely sidelined in the Amazon Prime show, but he’s got the powers to make up for it. With his super-strength and flight, he excels at maintaining pressure through close-range mix-ups and dynamic combos.
While Zandele Randolph first made a cameo appearance in Invincible #9 in 2004, his first full appearance was in Invincible #14 in the same year.
Thula

Of all the Viltrumites in Invincible, Thula isn’t the most memorable. Still, her blade braid gives a unique fighting style among her people, which translates to many medium and long-ranged attacks to keep her foes at bay to deliver devastating combos.
Thula herself was part of the Viltrumite trio sent to deal with Omni-Man on Thraxa, and one of the oldest Viltrumites around. She first appeared in Invincible #75 in 2010.
Rex Splode

Rex Splode has become a fan favourite, and he brings his explosive fighting style to Invincible VS. His explosions can be used to set traps, extend combos, or for low and overhead mixups. It can also be used to keep foes back at range, since Rex often finds himself using projectiles in the show and comics.
With his mobility and versatility, and status as a fan favourite, there could be quite a few Rex Splode running around in the Invincible VS closed alpha. He first appeared in Invincible #2 in 2004.
Battle Beast

Battle Beast is one of the strongest characters in Invincible. This is shown in the Invincible VS game by him being a slow yet heavy hitter. He has hyper armour and incredible range, thanks to his sheer size, allowing him to bully his opponents, just like in the show and comics.
As a character that only cares for violence and combat, Battle Beast is perfect for a fighting game, appearing strangely early for his power level. Thokk (his real name) first appeared in Invincible #19 in 2004.
Omni-man

To no one’s surprise, the mighty Omni-man will be one of the Viltrumite fighters in Invincible VS. His immense fighting experience will translate to a versatile moveset that can strike enemies at all ranges, having the pressure to set the pace at the first strike.
Nolan Grayson has proven to be more than just another evil Superman, and there’s more to him than just his brutality, although he’ll certainly get to show this off in Invincible VS. Nolan first appeared in Invincible #1 in 2003.
Cecil

Cecil doesn’t do much fighting in Invincible and isn’t an obvious choice for a fighting game, but he has access to the GDA’s seemingly endless resources to make up for it. Cecil will spend billions of taxpayer dollars to land the world’s most expensive combos, and his tech makes him a dangerous, ranged character.
While he could have been easily hated, Cecil has proven to be more than just another suit, and his tech gives him one of the more interesting movesets, visually speaking. He first appeared in Invincible #9 in 2024.
Monster Girl

Monster Girl is one of the new Guardians of the Globe’s heavy hitters, although she will be more monster than girl in Invincible VS. With her size and brute strength, Invincible VS bills her as a brawler and grappler, using her raw power to smash through her opponents.
While Invincible tends to be about aliens and technology, Monster Girl shows some of the magical side of the universe and represents it in the game. She first appeared in Invincible #9 in 2024.
Robot

Like with Monster Girl, Robot is one of the newest additions to the game, and is armed to the mechanical teeth with tech. This tech makes him one of the best ranged heroes in Invincible VS, and he is able to use his kit to outmanoeuvre his opponents, although this comes with added complexity.
Robot is a complexly written character with many names and can seemingly accomplish anything with his tech, including being a menace in a fighting game. He first appeared in Invincible #2 in 2003.
Conclusion
Invincible VS looks to be a promising project and more than just a cash grab for a big media franchise. The closed alpha will be the first test to see if this promise can be realised and how well Invincible’s vibrant cast translates to the fighting game world. If it goes well, it will only bring more hype when the Invincible VS release date is finally announced.
With Invincible VS aiming for 15 – 20 characters at launch, and with 10 announced thus far, it will be interesting to see who joins the roster later. The likes of Allen the Alien, Conquest, and Oliver are probably safe bets. Either way, the Invincible VS closed alpha will be extremely interesting for Invincible fans and fighting game enthusiasts alike.
