The Flank, a Call of Duty esports show, has revealed it will host an invitational Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 tournament.
The fourth edition of The Flank’s invitational tournament involves Call of Duty League (CDL) players competing for a share of a $20,000 (~£15,197) prize pool.
Announced on November 12th, 2025, The Flank Black Ops 7 Invitational is one of the first tournaments where fans will see CDL players in action on the latest instalment in Activision’s first-person shooter franchise.
Taking place on November 18th, furniture manufacturer Herman Miller will support the event. On the day before the tournament, teams will be selected at random through a wheel-spinning process.
While CDL players will compete in the tournament, the full list of participants has yet to be announced.
The tournament features the same game modes that will feature across the CDL during the 2026 season. For Black Ops 7, Overload makes its competitive debut, replacing Control as the third game mode.
Last year’s edition of The Flank Invitational saw 12 teams battle it out for a $25,000 (~£19,006) prize pool, with the team of Thomas ‘Scrap‘ Ernst, Dan ‘Ghosty‘ Rothe, Isaiah ‘Gwinn‘ Gwinn, and Thomas ‘TJHaLy‘ Haly emerging victorious.
Black Ops 7 Esports Plans
The Black Ops 7 season is shaping up to be one of the most exciting seasons of the Call of Duty League era. In October, the league revealed Majors will take place in Dallas, Texas and Atlanta, Georgia, in addition to a return to the UK and a debut in Paris.
The rebranded FaZe Vegas will host the season-ending CDL Championship in mid-July.
Elsewhere, Call of Duty’s amateur circuit has received a shakeup. Open LAN tournaments are taking place at each of the four Majors, along with four Elite seasons for each region.
For greater participation, the Middle East makes its Challengers debut. The region integrates into Europe, offering players from the region an opportunity to compete.
