T1 has signed Byeon ‘Munchkin‘ Sang-beom to its VALORANT team ahead of the VCT 2026 season.
The former Gen.G Esports player joins the roster to replace Kang ‘DH‘ Dong-ho, who has been placed into the T1 Academy roster.
In the announcement, T1 wrote: “‘Munchkin’ will be joining the T1 VALORANT team for 2026. Please join us in welcoming ‘Munchkin’, who will soar to even greater heights together with T1 VALORANT.”
Munchkin has played for T1 in the past, representing the organisation in the VCT 2023 season, participating in the Ludwig x Tarik invitational, Masters Tokyo, and VALORANT Champions in Los Angeles. Some of his best plays were showcased in the nearly two-minute-long announcement trailer on YouTube.
Munchkin’s addition to T1 is accompanied by news of DH’s repositioning to the academy roster, a move that has been met with mixed responses from fans online.
“‘DH’ has been sent down to T1A from the T1 VALORANT roster,” T1 wrote in its announcement. “We hope you continue to support ‘DH’ as he hones his skills further with T1A.”
DH first joined the organisation back in May this year. During his stint in the active roster, he played in VCT 2025 Pacific Stage 2 and helped the team reach VALORANT Champions in Paris.
T1 in VALORANT 2025
T1 had varying levels of success in the VCT 2025 season, experiencing major victories and disappointing defeats.
T1 began the year by placing runner-up in the Pacific Kickoff, losing to DRX 2-3 in the Grand Finals. However, after qualifying for Masters Bangkok 2025, the team secured first place after defeating G2 Esports 3-2.
Despite this feat, the organisation would face early knockouts across various events, including Pacific Stage 1 and the Esports World Cup Pacific Qualifier. Still, T1 was able to secure enough points to be invited to VALORANT Champions in Paris.
After some intense matches, T1 was knocked out in the Group Stage.
