First-person shooter title The Finals has unveiled an expanded esports ecosystem for its 2026 season.

Developed by Embark Studios, the title’s esports circuit will include more regions alongside an increased focus on integrating grassroots competitions into the ecosystem.

Unveiled on December 22nd, 2025, The Finals will include APAC in official tournaments for the 2026 season, giving players from the region a chance to qualify for the title’s biggest events. APAC joins EMEA and the Americas as the third region to be involved in the competition’s top tier.

Alongside the arrival of APAC, Embark Studios has integrated community events and initiatives into its ecosystem. Community-hosted events recognised by the developer contribute to the Regional Fame Index (RFI), a leaderboard tracking points earned by teams competing in regional tournaments. More details on the RFI are set to be revealed in early 2026.

Embark Studios reveals that tournament organisers interested in hosting events “will need to uphold a set of standards and follow an official global ruleset.” The criteria includes hosting open qualifiers to ensure all players have an opportunity to compete.

Following the inaugural edition of The Grand Major, which took place in November, Embark Studios also confirmed that the annual event will return for 2026. Top performers in each region will receive direct invitations to the event.

The Growth Of The Finals

Since its debut in 2025, The Finals has continued to establish itself as an esports title with considerable potential for growth.

In recent months, notable organisations such as Fnatic and TSM have expanded into the title. Moreover, in-game items and a partner programme have been created to support teams taking part in events.

The expansion into APAC and the integration of community-run tournaments opens the door for more players to compete. Moreover, the move raises the stakes of smaller tournaments as teams look to qualify for the Grand Major.
