League of Legends Esports Arabia has shared that Geekay Esports has withdrawn from the Arabian League, one of Riot Games’ EMEA regional leagues.

In a statement online, the account announced that 3BL Esports has been invited as a replacement following an assessment.

According to the statement, Geekay Esports shared its decision to withdraw from the Arabian League on December 25th, 2025, following an ‘internal review’.

Afterwards, a ‘structured review process’ was conducted to find a replacement, considering competitiveness, experience, and prior participation within the Arabian League. 3BL Esports was then selected to fill in the spot for the 2026 Winter event.

The League of Legends Esports Arabia account wrote on social media: “Looking ahead, we remain committed to continuously enhancing and further developing the Arabian League to uphold the highest standards and contribute to the growth of the esports ecosystem.”

3BL Esports joins the Winter tournament after failing to initially qualify, placing runner-up in Road to Arabian League 2025 Summer: Middle East and North Africa.

Geekay Esports’ decision has resulted in the league losing one of its staple teams. First joining in 2021, the organisation has won five Arabian League splits, including 2025 Spring and 2024 Summer. The organisation has also qualified for EMEA Masters on several occasions.

Arabian League troubles

Geekay Esports withdrawal has become the latest hurdle the Arabian League had to overcome ahead of the 2026 campaign.

The League of Legends Esports Arabia posted a separate statement on December 6th, sharing that Fox Gaming, another long-standing League of Legends team that has competed since 2020, would not participate in the league’s 2026 season.

The reasoning was that the Moroccan esports organisation failed to ‘meet critical financial obligations’ surrounding payments to players. Team Next Generation, which placed third in the Winter promotion tournament, was selected as the replacement for the esports event.
