Fortnite Competitive Events January 2026

Fortnite players don’t have to wait long before getting into the competitive action, as Epic Games has already announced various tournaments taking place in January 2026.

The highlight of this month’s calendar is the Reload Elite Series, which will send the top-performing teams to the 2026 Esports World Cup. In addition to this, the FNCS Trial will also be held on January 31st across all regions.

Esports Insider has outlined all of the Fortnite competitive events scheduled for January 2026 below.

Reload Elite Series

Players will have to reach Elite rank or above across four online qualifiers in Fortnite’s Reload Elite Series, with the first one starting on January 8th. From there, the top 2,000 duos from EU, 1,000 from NAC, and 500 from NAW, OCE, ASIA, ME, and BR will advance to the Play-In stage.

The best 80 teams, based on a cumulative leaderboard, will then be divided into four Heats, with the duos finishing in the top five of each Heat qualifying for the Finals. 

The online qualifiers alone feature a massive prize pool of $1.5m (~£1,111,170) and will be distributed among the highest-placing duos in the Heats, along with every duo competing in the Finals.

Following the Qualifier Finals, three squads from EU, two from NAC, and one team from ASIA, ME, BR, OCE, and NAW will move on to the Reload Elite Series Championship at the Esports World Cup to face partnered teams.

In total, the Championship will feature 12 teams from EU, eight from NAC, and four teams combined from ASIA, ME, BR, OCE, and NAW, all battling for a $1m (~£740,780) prize pool.

Compete in FNCS Trial to Reach Division 1 

Players ranked Gold or above, with an Account Level of 350 or higher, can participate in the FNCS Trial on January 31st to secure a spot in the starting Division.

From there, the duos can compete in Divisional Cups in their respective regions to climb further and ultimately reach Division 1 in order to battle in the FNCS Major Play-In Stage and earn prizes.
