Fortnite Chapter 8: Everything we know

Despite being near the start of Chapter 7, Fortnite Chapter 8 leaks and rumours have already begun to circulate regarding when it will be and what to expect. It may seem odd, considering that Chapter 7 will still make up the bulk of 2026, but it’s clear that Epic Games needs to plan far in advance with its biggest golden goose.

Not only have leaks of Chapter 8 begun to circulate, but a rumoured roadmap for the rest of the year has started to take shape. There’s plenty to look forward to throughout 2026, so let’s take a look at everything that’s come out so far.

According to reputable leaker and dataminer HypeX, who has garnered a reputation as one of the most reliable sources, Epic Games is planning to launch Fortnite Chapter 8 on November 28, 2026.

When asked about the source of the information, HypeX forwarded a Fortnite Creator Roadmap. They state that pattern recognition, as well as the scheduled release dates given by Epic Games, form the basis of this information. Note that the given release dates come with a disclaimer, stating that they are subject to change, but reflect Fortnite’s current plans for 2026.

The currently rumoured release date would put Fortnite Chapter 8 one week after Grand Theft Auto 6, which is planned for November 19, as of writing.

Beyond just Fortnite Chapter 8, which is planned for the end of the year, HypeX gave all the dates for the 2026 Fortnite roadmap. Not all dates come with update numbers. Also note that, according to this roadmap, there will only be one update before the end of the year for Chapter 8 on December 10, likely to be Yule-themed, as was the case for the end of 2025.

HypeX has also presented a list of known collaborations for 2026. With Fortnite Chapter 8 releasing at the end of the year, the likelihood is that most, if not all, of these rumoured collabs will be a part of Chapter 7. This is guaranteed with South Park and Resident Evil, with the latter coming in March and the former coming even sooner.

So far, it isn’t known what changes the Fortnite Chapter 8 map will have, nor have we been made aware of the overall theme. Given that Chapter 7 won’t finish until the end of 2026, it shouldn’t be a surprise, and the new Fortnite Chapter 8 weapons changes will likely be tweaked anyway, based on feedback on the current chapter.

While not much has been revealed about Fortnite Chapter 8 as of yet, it’s interesting that there are already seemingly concrete plans in case for it. Chapter 7 is still at the start of its life cycle, as of January 2026, and Epic Games clearly has many plans before releasing Chapter 8. 

As we draw closer to the end of Chapter 7, we will no doubt hear more Fortnite Chapter 8 rumours. Epic Games seems to want to go bigger and better each season, and with how Chapter 6 ended with Zero Hour, the end of Chapter 7 and start of Chapter 8 will have to be explosive.

With the epic cinema planned for 2026, like Avengers: Doomsday, Supergirl, and Dune 3, there will undoubtedly be many reactive Fortnite collaborations throughout the year.
