
FGC festival Frosty Faustings XVIII has announced that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will return for its 2026 event.
According to the announcement online, there will be two tournaments for the FGC title: a singles and doubles competition.
The doubles tournament will be held first on January 31st, 2026. Entry costs $5 (~£3.70) for each player, and $10 (~£7.40) per team. Registrations for doubles close on January 19th, 2026, at 5:59 AM UTC+0.
The livestream for the doubles competition will be broadcast once the top six players have been decided as they compete to decide this year’s champion.
The singles tournament is free to enter for all Frosty Faustings XVIII participants with a competitor badge. Registration for the singles event also closes at the same time as doubles.
The entire bracket will take place on February 1st, 2026, with all matches broadcast through a dedicated stream.
Additionally, the singles tournament will feature a $1000 (~£743.50) prize pool provided by competitive gaming production team UR Tournaments and esports rental service UGS Gaming.
Esports at Frosty Faustings XVIII
Frosty Fausting XVIII 2026 is an annual FGC festival first founded by FGC icon Mike ‘ElvenShadow‘ Boczar, featuring various esports competitions, community events, and more. It will run from January 29th to February 1st, 2026 in Illinois, USA
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is not the only FGC title that will be featured at the upcoming festival. Recently, Riot Games’ tag-team fighting game 2XKO partnered with the event, bringing a mixed mode tournament with a boosted prize pool of $50,000 (~£37,565).
Other FGC events will also be featured at the festival, such as the Arc World Tour singles qualifiers for titles Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising and Guilty Gear: Strive. Moreover, the Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O World Stage singles tournament is also scheduled to run at Frosty Faustings XVIII 2026.
