A collaboration between Fortnite and the highly popular adult animated series South Park has been rumoured for a while now, after leaks began to circulate in late 2025. Epic Games recently confirmed that the collab will indeed be happening with the social media post below from January 6, 2026.
The following day, both the Fortnite social media accounts and South Park Studios released a trailer, confirming that the collab will be called “Born In Chaos”. In addition to what we have seen in the trailer, Fortnite leakers have also had a lot of information to share. Of course, this all has to be taken with a pinch of salt, as nothing can be confirmed as true until the new content is released. However, it’s always fun to do a bit of digging and speculating, so let’s take a look at what we know for sure about the Fortnite South Park collab and what the rumours are saying we can expect.
What has been confirmed about Fortnite x South Park?
At the time of writing (January 8, 2026), all we know is what was shown in the “Born In Chaos” trailer. We also know that the collab will drop on January 9, 2026. In the trailer, Fortnite South Park skins are shown for the four main boys – Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny – and Butters. Much like Morty from the Rick and Morty crossover and Bart and Lisa Simpson from the Simpsons collab, the kids are dressed in mechs so that their designs fit in with the standard Fortnite character model.
The cool thing about the trailer is that, much like with The Simpsons collab, an animated short was created to coincide with the crossover and add some lore to explain why these worlds are colliding. In the short, Butters is upset that the boys don’t want to play Fortnite with him, so he retrieves the Stick of Truth (which was tossed into Starks Pond at the end of the Stick of Truth game) and – to everyone’s surprise– it actually has the power to turn wishes into reality. As Butters wishes for the boys to play Fortnite with him, they are transformed into their mecha suit variants, the Stick of Truth flies out the window, and the South Park school bus becomes the battle bus. Despite being only a few minutes long, the animated short is a really cool way to tie the collaboration into the actual show, making everything feel more authentic and connected.

The animation then turns into Fortnite gameplay, and we see the boys and Butters fight for possession of the stick. This may well be a unique Fortnite South Park game mode, or it could be a regular battle royale. It’s impossible to tell just yet. A consumable can be seen in the form of the famous South Park snack, Cheesy Poofs, while the Stick of Truth appears to have some special abilities, which could be confirmation of previous leaks regarding the stick being a Mythic item.
The trailer also shows that Wonkeeland has been turned into Cartmanland (referring to the episode of the show where Cartman gets his own theme park, but doesn’t let anybody inside). The theme park appears to be entirely South Park themed, but it’s unclear if this is the only part of the map that has been redesigned for the collaboration. The walking, talking, pot-smoking towel Towelie can also be seen in the trailer, suggesting that he might be purchasable as a Sidekick.
What can we expect from Fortnite x South Park?

There is plenty of content that players are hoping to see in the Fortnite x South Park collab, but the most anticipated content is skins and cosmetics.
Skins are always one of the most anticipated parts of Fortnite collaborations, and we are expecting to see at least a few South Park-themed skins with the upcoming collab. The trailer showcases the unique designs of each mech suit for the boys and Butters, and it’s impressive to see the time and effort that have been put into them, ensuring they are well-suited to each character. For instance, Cartman’s mech suit is made of cardboard and tubes, and is a recreation of his AWESOM-O robot suit from the show. Kenny’s suit, on the other hand, is made up of garbage, like an old toilet seat, referencing how he is often thought of as the “poor kid” in South Park.
There are sure to be other items released with the collab, too, but we don’t see them in the trailer. Other cosmetics that tend to release for collaborations include items such as pickaxes and back blings, as well as emotes. Some other possibilities include jam tracks, banner icons, or loading screens. However, it is unclear how Epic Games will implement these cosmetics, as South Park is an R-rated show, and the content will have to be tailored to the T for Teen Fortnite audience.
Fortnite x South Park leaks

Some older leaks about the collaboration suggest that there will also be more to the crossover. Well-known Fortnite leaker @HYPEX posted about the collab at the beginning of December, suggesting that there will be a Rift Anomaly called “Everyone Kills Kenny”, a Respawn Token, and at least one boss battle. The Stick of Truth, as a Mythic item, was also leaked by HYPEX, and it seems like this could be true. A more recent post from HYPEX also states there could be a mini battle pass, which would be a great way for players to earn some Fortnite South Park rewards within the game.
Conclusion
The trailer offers a brief yet significant glimpse into what we can expect from the Fortnite x South Park collab. As a whole, it looks like the collab could be an incredibly fun crossover, especially for fans of South Park.
