Motorsport UK reveals 2026 esports calendar

Motorsport UK has unveiled its full sim racing calendar for the 2026 season, featuring a mixture of new and returning events.

The national body for motorsport in the UK will host a total of 12 events from February to December.

Announced on February 11th, the 2026 season begins with the Cross Car Esports Cup, where drivers will compete on iRacing for a chance to earn a real racing opportunity in the Cross Car Championship.

From March to May, Motorsport UK will host the British Sim Racing Cup in addition to the Prototype Challenge, taking place from April to May. From June to July, the Rookie Cup provides a platform for aspiring sim racers to showcase their skills.

The second half of the year contains a wide range of single-seater and sports car events. The British F4 Esports Championship returns for a fifth consecutive year, while fans of endurance racing can compete in the Britcar 24 Hours taking place in September.

Eleven of the 12 events taking place throughout the year use iRacing, a popular platform for high-profile sim racing competitions. In December, Motorsport UK will host an endurance race on Le Mans Ultimate, a title continuing to attract significant growth among drivers.

Sim racing continues to show signs of growth as real-world motorsport series launch virtual competitions featuring some of the world’s best virtual drivers. On February 10th, iRacing and NASCAR launched the 17th eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series season with drivers competing for a $500,000 (~£365,443) prize pool.

In addition to Motorsport UK bolstering its sim racing efforts, Motorsport Australia has also continued to support virtual racing. In January, it extended its existing partnership with Next Level Racing to offer sim racers discounts on its product line and support activations taking place at upcoming Formula One races.
