European esports organisation GIANTX has unveiled a standalone version of iTero, an AI-powered League of Legends training tool.
iTero Standalone is available to download now and uses AI to analyse various aspects of the MOBA title to improve in-game performance.
The latest version of the training tool is fully independent. iTero Standalone aims to provide users with improved performance and greater precision while analysing gameplay and suggesting potential improvements.
Founded in 2022 by Jack Joseph Williams, iTero Gaming developed AI-driven coaching systems designed to help casual and professional players. The software analyses millions of matches to provide users with personalised recommendations during their own matches.
Recommendations include which Champion to select to best counter the opposing team composition, in addition to the strongest builds. Alongside the recommendations, iTero Standalone also provides insight into other players and their in-game tendencies.
GIANTX acquired iTero Gaming in July 2024 as part of the organisation’s technology ecosystem expansion. Before the acquisition, the start-up also won the 2021 edition of Esports Insider’s pitch investment competition, The Clutch.
iTero’s Continued Growth
Since launching in 2022, iTero’s coaching tool has continued to gain traction as League of Legends players look to improve their performance during matches. The platform states that it has been downloaded over 500,000 times, cementing its place as one of the largest coaching tools for Riot Games‘ MOBA title.
AI’s involvement in esports coaching continues to grow, with several organisations and companies embarking on initiatives. In March, R6 Munich Major champions M80 partnered with Omnic for AI to support its in-person coaching operations.
January saw gaming peripherals brand Razer unveil its dedicated AI coaching project at CES 2025. Known as Project AVA, users of the coaching tool will gain real-time insight into their in-game performances using data collected by Team Razer’s roster of esports players and coaches.
