The LCK offseason has just started and the fans have been hit by a shocking move as T1 announces the departure of Lee ‘Gumayusi‘ Min-hyeong.

Revealed by the Korean esports organisation through a post and a farewell video, the 23-year-old will embark on a new journey after representing T1 for seven years.

“I will be leaving T1 and starting a new chapter, another journey to prove myself,” said the player in the video. That said, Gumayusi has yet to unveil his next destination.

Gumayusi Leaves T1 at the Peak of His Career

During his time in the team, Gumayusi was established himself as one of the best ADCs in the world, winning one LCK title and three consecutive world championships, alongside his teammates Mun ‘Oner‘ Hyeon-jun, Lee ‘Faker‘ Sang-hyeok, and Ryu ‘Keria‘ Min-seok.

He was also nominated as Finals MVP in the series against KT Rolster, culminating a season that started out in one of the worst ways possible for the player.

Gumayusi had to temporarily give up his spot on the starting lineup at the start of the year, with academy ADC Shin ‘Smash‘ Geum-jae replacing him, and was only later reinstated by T1 CEO Joe Marsh. Despite that, Gumayusi didn’t let his performance drop and bounced back by leading T1 at the world championship, pulling off several carry performances throughout the tournament.

With Gumayusi also gone, another piece from the legendary ZOFGK roster has left the organisation, as the ADC player follows Choi ‘Zeus’ Woo-je’s exit from the previous year.

T1 Yet to Unveil Gumayusi’s Replacement

The Korean organisation will now have to pick up a new ADC while also sorting out the situation for top laner Choi ‘Doran‘ Hyeon-joon, who had his contract expiring at the end of the season.

The rest of the T1 players are set to stay: Oner and Keria have contracts until the end of next year while Faker has re-signed until 2029 earlier this summer.
