Call of Duty League (CDL) franchise Vancouver Surge has unveiled its roster for the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 season.
The roster notably includes 2024 Halo world champion Kaci ‘Lqgend‘ Sabri, who has switched to Call of Duty esports following the conclusion of the 2025 Halo Championship Series (HCS) season.
Announced on November 18th, 2025, Vancouver Surge is one of the final CDL franchises to unveil its roster for the Black Ops 7 season, set to begin in December. Alongside Lqgend, the trio of Ronald ‘Abe‘ Abraham, Isiah ‘Gwinn‘ Gwinn, and Noah ‘Lunarz‘ Whillock rounds out the team.
Vancouver Surge has opted for a young roster as it looks to improve on a solid Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 season. Over the past year, the franchise scored three second-place finishes across the four Majors and the season-ending CDL Championship.
Despite the youth, the new Vancouver Surge roster has plenty of experience competing in the CDL. Gwinn debuted in 2023 with the Carolina Royal Ravens, while Abe and Lunarz spent the Black Ops 6 season under the Toronto Ultra (Toronto KOI) and Los Angeles Guerrillas M8 banners.
Lqgend becomes the latest Halo player to transition to Call of Duty esports. He follows the likes of Matt ‘FormaL‘ Piper and Anthony ‘Shotzzy‘ Cuevas-Castro, who have both achieved success across the two titles in recent years.
Vancouver Surge In 2025
The arrival of a new roster for the Black Ops 7 season isn’t the only change for Vancouver Surge ahead of the new season.
In November, esports agency XDOTG secured the operating rights to the franchise thanks to a deal with Canucks Sports and Entertainment. The deal saw Ricky ‘Atura‘ Lugo named as Vancouver Surge’s Head Coach for the upcoming season.
With the attention of fans on Lqgend’s transition to a new title, it will be interesting to see if Vancouver Surge can score its first tournament victory.
