Black Ops 7 weapons tier list: Ranking the most power-packed weaponry

The guns in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 are packed full of power, and they’re especially fun to use, too. With a variety of optional attachments and dozens of weapons to customise across multiple distinct game modes, it can be difficult to interpret which guns are the strongest.

We’re bringing BO7 players this guide to help you decide which gun is best for your loadout. Without further ado, here’s every weapon in Black Ops 7 ranked by power and effectiveness during combat.

Below, you’ll find a quick breakdown of every gun in Black Ops 7 and why it’s been placed in its bracket.

There are fewer guns in S-Tier than in A-Tier or B-Tier, as not every gun can be the best. The AK-27 is easy to unlock and offers well-rounded stats, so it’s currently one of the strongest guns for Black Ops 7 players of all skill levels, especially with a few attachments to mitigate recoil. For submachine guns, the Dravec 45 is an SMG with exceptionally low recoil, so it’s the perfect mix for those seeking a mid-range weapon that packs an automatic punch.

The Akita is a full-auto shotgun, making it a great companion if you aim to fight enemies in close quarters. If you want to wield a marksman rifle, look no further than the M8A1, a four-round burst weapon that has nice accuracy and a top-tier fire rate as the cherry on top. For our final S-Tier pick, the XR-3 Ion is one of the best sniper rifles in Black Ops 7, thanks in part to its high three-round burst damage and deadly accuracy.

Beginning with assault rifles, the M15 Mod 0 offers a perfect balance of stats, while the DS20 Mirage has an underbarrel grenade launcher, but its overall recoil is on the higher side. SMG users will love the MPC-25 for its incredible damage if you can look past its recoil. Alternatively, the Carbon 57 has a base magazine size of 50, but its damage leaves something to be desired.

Fans of pump-action shotguns should try the M10 Breacher for a basic, yet powerful, close-range gun. We’ve placed both the MK.78 and XM325 LMGs in A-Tier due to well-rounded stats and high magazine capacities, though you should try the XM325 first if you want a weapon with quick handling. The Warden 308 is a semi-auto marksman rifle that deals deadly damage, and the Shadow SK is a well-rounded sniper rifle that’s only disadvantage is its low rate of fire.

The A.R.C. M1 is also a power-packed weapon, an energy beam launcher focused on destroying enemy scorestreaks. Every weapon in A-Tier is a good choice, though they often have small disadvantages that put these guns a step behind S-Tier.

There are over 10 weapons in B-Tier. First up, the Knife and Flatline MK.II are melee weapons that’ll easily eliminate your enemies. For guns, you’ll find that the MXR-17 and Peacekeeper MK1 are great full-auto ARs with moderate damage, while the X9 Maverick is a high damage 3-round burst rifle. The Ryden 45K, RK-9, and Razor 9MM are all strong SMGs, but they don’t compare to S-Tier’s Dravec 45.

For long-range burst weapons, the M34 Novaline is a two-round burst marksman rifle with a lower fire rate but very high damage. The VS Recon is a reliable sniper rifle, even though it doesn’t particularly stand out. Black Ops 7’s Aarow 109 is a hybrid launcher that can destroy vehicles with ease, while the full-auto Coda 9 is one of the best pistols in BO7.

B-Tier guns can’t usually compete with weapons in S-Tier or A-Tier, but you shouldn’t count them out if you’re looking for something specific to your playstyle.

C-Tier is where you’ll find guns that just can’t live up to other weapons in Black Ops 7. The Velox 5.7 is a fun pistol if you like three-round burst weapons, but its accuracy is low. BO7’s Echo 12 is a fun-to-use semi-auto shotgun, and while it’s not the worst gun in BO7, it’s not great either. The weapons in C-Tier are easily overshadowed, but they can still be fun to use from time to time.

For D-Tier, we felt that only the Jager 45 pistol is worthy of the lowest rank. As the first pistol you have access to in Black Ops 7, the Jager 45 has reliable recoil but not much else.

After taking a look at the best weapons in Black Ops 7, you’ll be able to make informed decisions while building the ultimate Call of Duty loadout. Every player’s favourite weapon will be different, but there are a few pieces of equipment in BO7 that are inherently more powerful than the rest.

You may appreciate the burst damage provided by the M8A1 or the close-range power of the Akita shotgun, but either way, there’s a top-tier gun that’ll fit with your favourite weapon type. Black Ops 7 has a fantastic arsenal, so make sure to try a few different guns before you commit to a favourite.
