TL;DR

  • The Simpsons x Fortnite collab began on November 1, with the map transforming into Springfield for the month.
  • Players can collect items and fight enemies related to the show, as well as earn cosmetics like a Homer and Krusty the Clown skin.
  • The season has been a huge success for both Epic Games and Disney, with nearly three million players joining the season on November 1.
  • The Simpsons X Fortnite will end on November 29 with a ‘Zero Hour’ event, but details are sparse at the time of writing.
  • Chapter 7 is rumoured to feature a Hollywood theme, with characters like Back to the Future’s Marty McFly and Kill Bill’s The Bride allegedly part of its Battle Pass.

The Simpsons in Fortnite has become one of the most successful collaborations in recent times. Developer Epic Games has featured plenty of collabs in the past in its free-to-play battle royale title, such as Marvel, Star Wars, and more. But there has been a huge influx of players this month, with The Simpsons and much of its lore part of Fortnite’s map.

Beginning on November 1, with a final update added on November 19, and the mini-season coming to an end on November 29, players have already fought bosses like Evil Homer, Krusty the Clown, and Witch Marge. However, across its almost-40-year history, there are plenty of characters that could be fantastic bosses as we head towards the final ‘Zero Hour’ event. With this in mind, we’re listing five potential bosses that could make the final moments of this mini-season very memorable.

Five bosses that should appear in Fortnite x The Simpsons

Poochie

Appearing in Season 8, Episode 14 called ‘The Itchy & Scratchy & Poochie Show’, Poochie features as a ‘new character’ in the Itchy and Scratchy cartoon as a way to boost ratings, but fails miserably. However, with this sole appearance, Poochie has become very memorable, due to his quotes, rap, and how he leaves the show.

In Fortnite, Poochie would be a great boss to battle against in the final moments of the season, who could appear on his skateboard, use a fireworks gun from the referenced fireworks factory in the episode, and implement his exit as a special attack for players. A ‘Zero Hour’ event shouldn’t be taken seriously, and Poochie could be a good way of leveraging that.

Hank Scorpio

‘You Only Move Twice’ is widely agreed by fans as one of the best Simpsons episodes ever made. Featuring the family moving to a whole new town, Homer becomes friends with his new boss, Hank Scorpio, but he turns out to be a villain, reminiscent of the James Bond movies. What follows is 20 minutes of fantastic jokes, worldly references, and more that make the episode a home run.

Hank Scorpio is the perfect boss for Simpsons x Fortnite. Part of the map could house his underground lair, complete with his many soldiers, ready to attack you and your group. Scorpio could also have a variety of weapons, such as sugar, loafers, and more, making him an obvious choice that, frankly, would be a surprise if he didn’t appear on November 29.

Dr. Collossus

Sometimes, a character briefly appears in The Simpsons, but becomes iconic. Dr. Colossus is one of them, having appeared twice in its early run: in jail, and in a photo frame. Nothing is known about him, other than he’s a caricature of a comic book villain, complete with ‘Collosso-boots’ and a lair called Death Mountain.

As we approach the end of the Simpsons x Fortnite season, it could be perfect for the Doctor to appear as a boss, complete with a section of the map with his lair, where you’ll finally be able to see what his ‘stuff’ actually entails. He could even have other gadgets that could make him a formidable one to beat, but certainly one to remember.

Sideshow Bob

Sideshow Bob has been a villain of the show since its first season. After failing to set up Krusty the Clown for a crime thanks to Bart, Bob has been trying to kill him ever since. From stalking him to threatening the town with a non-working nuclear bomb, he’s a well-known villain who can work well as a boss.

With plans that have threatened Springfield, as well as featuring in other areas not in the Fortnite map, such as the Damn and Krusty’s TV studio, having Bob be part of the Zero Hour event could be a great way to end things. Perhaps players could help The Simpsons family thwart Bob’s latest plan, ending with the map transforming into something entirely different.

Kang and Kodos

Granted, Kang and Kodos already appear in Fortnite via the free glider you can collect if you have a MyDisney account, but there’s a big opportunity to leverage the two aliens in a big way as we approach the season’s end. Appearing in the second season episode ‘Treehouse of Horror’, they’ve become iconic villains in these non-canon episodes due to their haphazard comedy act.

Kang and Kodos could appear at the ‘Zero Hour’ event from the skies, ready to invade the Fortnite map, complete with an army of their race. We’ve had flyable vehicles before, so players could take control of a UFO, similar to what Kang and Kodos use. This could be a great way to end the season, especially as their appearance began as a glider, making it a full-circle moment.

Conclusion

The Simpsons Fortnite collab has seen huge numbers of players logging into the game to experience how the show has taken over the map. Indeed, as soon as you start a match, you’re brought to an inspired intro of the opening credits to The Simpsons, tapping into a part of nostalgia that appeals to those who may not have played Fortnite before this collab.

With plenty of references already in this mini-season, it makes sense for Epic Games to take advantage of this more through new bosses. Whether they appear before the season ends, or as part of the ‘Zero Hour’ event on November 29, it could be a great way to leverage some more nostalgia before Chapter 7 arrives on December 1.
