Five ways Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 1 could eclipse The Simpsons crossover

As we bid farewell to the hugely successful Simpsons x Fortnite collab that lasted throughout November, Chapter 7 is set to change everything again for Epic Games’ free-to-play battle royale title. A Hollywood theme is reportedly set to feature numerous characters from movies and TV shows.

Leaks suggest Marty McFly from Back to the Future, as well as The Bride from Kill Bill, will both appear heavily in the new chapter. This could mean that parts of the map will be inspired by these movie franchises, possibly letting players take part in moments from these titles, and more. Instead, this story is what fans and players will be able to see.

It’s another unique way to bridge the gap between Hollywood and Fortnite, similar to how the four animated Simpsons shorts were released across November for the mini-season. Seeing more shorts, in addition to Yuki’s Revenge, could showcase more of The Bride and how she influences the Fortnite map throughout the chapter. However, with other Hollywood franchises making an appearance, it’s also possible that other characters could appear in their own shorts, attracting other players to see what’s going on.

A big part of why the Simpsons x Fortnite collab worked so well was due to the map being completely transformed into Springfield. Players could visit some locations from the animated show and complete objectives and missions that involved some of these places. It made a big impression, allowing players to visit locations that they had seen repeatedly on the hundreds of Simpsons episodes.

For Chapter 7, this concept could be taken even further by having sections of the map be 1:1 copies of locations from movies, such as the Clock Tower area from Back to the Future. Music is a crucial part of any movie. If you’re a fan of the Star Wars movies, for instance, its soundtrack is likely something you love to hear repeatedly. The Simpsons x Fortnite collab had a few songs available to buy via its Item Shop, but offering a bunch of themes from movies and TV shows could eclipse this.

Alien, The Terminator, John Wick, Ghostbusters, and more could all return for this new chapter without feeling shoehorned in. With the map seemingly taking inspiration from some franchises, these movies could also do similarly, appearing in new ways with locations that players can visit.

This movie-based chapter will likely last for several months before an event occurs to introduce something else, much like Zero Hour on November 29. With Marty McFly allegedly coming to Chapter 7, its ending could start with parts of the map transforming into past and future versions.

For example, one part of the map could feature Back to the Future’s Hill Valley in 1985, but for a week, it could be its 1955 version, until the final event starts. This isn’t something that’s been done in Fortnite before, and could give this chapter a new way for players to experience parts of the map. With the Simpsons x Fortnite collab’s map barely changing throughout November, this time-travel aspect could make up for this, making a big impression on players and fans of these movies.

The Simpsons were a huge success in Fortnite, where the crossover took over many of the game’s features, from the graphics to the playable map. But with Chapter 7 Season 1 about to arrive, there are lots of areas where it could overtake the success of the previous collab.
