Paris Gentle Mates has won Kaysan’s Showdown VII, a Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 pre-season LAN tournament featuring four of the 12 Call of Duty League (CDL) franchises.

Shortly after relocating to the French capital and the signing of a brand-new roster, the franchise defeated OpTic Texas in the Grand Final with a 4-1 scoreline.

Paris Gentle Mates opened the tournament with a convincing victory over the Los Angeles Thieves in the opening round, setting up an upper bracket final clash against OpTic Texas.

A back-and-forth five-game series went in favour of Paris Gentle Mates thanks to a clinical display on Den Search and Destroy. The victory cemented the franchise’s place in its first tournament Grand Final, along with a guaranteed share of the $50,000 (~£37,809) prize pool.

The Green Wall fought back into the Grand Final, defeating the Los Angeles Thieves 3-1 with superior strategy across both Hardpoints and Den Overload. As a result, OpTic Texas would face off against Paris Gentle Mates for a second time in the tournament.

OpTic Texas kicked off Blackheart Hardpoint with a thrilling 250-246 win, taking the early series lead. Paris Gentle Mates responded emphatically, taking the next four maps to secure the franchise’s first tournament victory.

Is Paris Gentle Mates The Team To Beat?

The new roster for Paris Gentle Mates has already started producing results, demonstrating its capabilities to beat Call of Duty League’s established names. After the roster finished the Monster Energy Launch Invitational in second place, the early signs are certainly promising.

The first online qualifiers for Major 1 begin on December 5th, with all 12 teams looking to begin the Black Ops 7 season on the front foot.

With both Paris Gentle Mates and OpTic Texas already being established as the early frontrunners, the opening Major cycle of the 2025/26 season has the potential to deliver plenty of competitive action.
