Various esports organisations have disbanded rosters competing in tactical first-person shooter, The Finals, ahead of its 2026 competitive season.
Spacestation Gaming, ENVY, and 2025 champion NTMR have shared that they are parting ways with their players following the conclusion of the inaugural Grand Major.
It is important to note that none of the organisations have stated intentions to leave The Finals esports scene. As of writing, all three brands remain members of the Partner Team Programme, featuring in-game bundles.
How Did the Team’s Perform in 2025?
ENVY first signed its trio of players in July 2025, and entered into the Grand Major taking place in DreamHack Stockholm by winning the North America Closed Qualifier. During the tournament, the team placed fifth out of 16 international teams competing.
The North American organisation says goodbye to players ‘Blizzy‘, Jaden ‘stewj‘ and ‘stn2k‘ ahead of the new year.
Spacestation Gaming joined The Finals esports scene by signing its roster on August 2025, with Zairek ‘Hogz‘ Poll joining as coach two months later. Despite only placing seventh in the North America Closed Qualifier, the organisation ultimately finished third in the Grand Major.
Following the conclusion of The Finals first competitive season, Spacestation Gaming parts ways with Brandon ‘Graduating‘, Sterling ‘lamp‘ Kimball, Noah ‘n0rmalize‘, and coach Hogz.
The Grand Major 2025 champion, NTMR, has also announced that it will be letting go of some of its players ahead of the new year. The organisation first signed the roster on August 2nd, with coach ‘zee‘ joining in September.
After placing fifth in the North America Closed Qualifier, no one could have predicted the roster securing a first-place finish in the crowning event at DreamHack Stockholm, securing the lion’s share of a $100,000 (~£75,500) prize pool.
NTMR has since parted ways with Brayden ‘Gremlin‘ Hanson and James ‘UNI‘ Takai. However, as of this writing, Jordan ‘Lasagna‘ Williams and zee are still part of the organisation.
“Forever legends in this world,” Jack ‘Fl4k‘ Ketchum, CEO of NTMR, wrote on social media. “Forever legends of NTMR. Will always be so grateful for your time and dedication to the game. I know you both will continue to thrive.”
What’s Next for The Finals?
After hosting its first official in-person LAN event in 2025, The Finals has continued to expand its presence as a competitive title.
The developers of The Finals, Embark Studios, announced that the esports circuit will return for 2026. This time around, the scene will feature more regions, as well as integrate community events and initiatives into the ecosystem.
