VALORANT has revealed a massive Breeze rework as well as the new Bandit pistol as part of the game’s latest Patch 12.00.

Kicking off the VALORANT Season 2026, the new patch also features significant agent changes, adjustments to Corrode and Haven and a new 5v5 game mode.

Promising Breeze Rework

As announced at the start of 2026, Breeze has returned to VALORANT’s competitive map pool to replace Sunset, following a year-and-a-half hiatus.

To make one of the game’s least popular maps receive a warmer welcome from the community, Riot Games has conducted its biggest map rework to date. This includes adjustments to almost every part of the map, such as A/B main, A/B site, mid, the wooden doors and halls.

In the past, Breeze had been heavily criticised for its large map size and open areas, which made the map heavily attack-sided and limited the pool of viable agents. Just like in a later revoked Breeze change, halls was closed entirely to reduce the scope of the map.

Similarly, both plant sites as well as the map’s middle section were reworked to ‘reduce angle complexity [and] tighten up spaces’. These changes will hopefully make the gameplay experience less frustrating for both sides while facilitating on-site defence strategies and mid-round rotations for defenders.

During the first two weeks of the patch, RR losses on Breeze will be reduced by 50%.

Corrode and Haven Changes

With heavy penetration guns, particularly the Odin, becoming increasingly popular among the VALORANT player base, Riot also reinforced some of the most-spammed walls across Haven and Corrode.

Patch 12.00 adds a breakable element to Haven’s mid window wall to prevent players from fishing for early-round kills through wall penetration.

Corrode received reinforcements to one of its A-site walls and the main wall on the B-site, which now deny any form of wall penetration through these surfaces. However, this still leaves plenty of spammable walls on the map.

New Pistol: Bandit

One year after the introduction of the Outlaw sniper rifle, VALORANT has received its second gun addition. The new Bandit sidearm weapon offers one-tap headshot power at a slightly lower cost than the Sheriff.

According to Riot’s Patch 12.00 announcement, ‘the Bandit lands right between the Ghost and Sheriff, offering more diversity in light rounds whether choosing to focus on Agent abilities or focus on gunplay.’

Here are the Bandit’s stats:

  • Weapon Class: Sidearm
  • Price: 600 credits
  • Attachments: None
  • Bullets per Magazine: 8
  • Ammo Reserve: 24
  • Reload Timing: 1.5s
  • Equip Timing: .75s
  • Wall Penetration: Medium

Agent Changes: Breach, Harbor and More

Recognising Breach’s weak spot in the current meta, Riot has buffed his flashes and stun:

  • Flashpoint: Projectile speed increased 20% from 2000 >> 2400
  • Fault Line: Width increased from 7.5m >> 8m

His fellow initiator, Tejo, received slight reworks to his concuss and drone abilities:

  • Special Delivery: Concuss duration decreased from 4 seconds >> 2.5 seconds. Added damage to the explosion (35 at centre with minimum damage of 20)
  • Stealth Drone: Reveal type has been changed from Snapshot reveal to being fully Revealed. Pulse radius decreased from 30m >> 16m

Despite the recent Harbor rework, the controller has now been given additional buffs to improve his viability further:

  • Storm Surge: Explosion no longer requires line of sight to nearsight and slow players. Explosion windup decreased from 0.8 seconds >> 0.6 seconds. Slow duration increased from 0.6 seconds >> 2 seconds
  • Reckoning: Slow duration increased from 0.6 seconds >> 2 seconds

The same applies to Vyse, who had suffered heavily from the sentinel nerfs introduced in Patch 11.08:

  • Steel Garden: Radius increased from 26m >> 28m. Width increased from 7.5m >> 8m

Finally, Riot updated the Healing Orb targeting for Sage so that she can heal allies if the mid and lower sections of their models are blocked by geometry.

How Will The Changes Affect VALORANT Esports?

With the VCT 2026 season commencing later this month, many of the changes from Patch 12.00 will likely be active during the VCT Kickoff events.

Although the Breeze rework might make the map less attacker-sided, fans can still expect similar agent compositions as seen during Breeze’s previous time in the competitive map pool.

These include Viper as the predominant controller and Yoru as a popular solo/duo duelist option. However, the recent sentinel nerfs might affect whether VCT teams will gravitate towards no-sentinel comps on Breeze. Moreover, considering that Harbor was used as an alternative to Viper on Breeze in the past, he might see increased usage in pro play now.

Breach’s flashes have long been considered the easiest flashes to dodge. Still, it is uncertain if the latest buffs can offset the nerfs of the past, as well as the unpopular position of flash-initiators compared to other agents with flashes, such as Yoru.

In a similar vein, the buffs to Vyse’s ultimate ability are unlikely to overcome the heavy nerfs to her flash and wall from previous patches.

The Tejo changes are more difficult to interpret on paper alone. Following his deserved rework last year, the previously overpowered agent was considered fairly balanced. Despite the massive power reduction, Tejo would still be played on specific maps, including Bind. Reworked Tejo’s biggest strength was his drone, which has now been nerfed. This might turn him into even more of a niche pick throughout the 2026 VCT season.

New Game Mode and Other Changes

For the start of VALORANT Season 2026, a new 5v5 limited-time mode has been introduced.

‘All Random One Site’ sees you and your team fight for a single site. In addition to free loadouts and abilities recharging during each round, your agent also switches after every round.

Other updates featured in Patch 12.00 include multi-factor authentication for all Ascendant+ players in Europe, making Replays available for Custom games and hidden MMR changes.
