Honor of Kings unveils KIS4 format and prize pool

Mobile MOBA title Honor of Kings has unveiled the format and prize pool for the upcoming Honor of Kings Invitational Season 4 (KIS4).

Taking place from January 31st to February 8th, eight teams from Asia and Brazil will compete in the first invitational event of the season.

Fans can check out the detailed structure of the KIS4 below, along with the prize pool distribution.

Before the action gets underway, the tournament will see the top two invited teams from the Team Star Value Ranking placed into two groups of four. Both organisations will then select squads from the remaining pool to finalise their respective groups.

Once the groups are decided, teams will compete in a single round-robin format using best-of-five series. Notably, no eliminations from the tournament will occur during this stage.

Following the Group Stage, all eight teams will be seeded into a single-elimination bracket in the Knockout Stage, featuring best-of-seven series. Also, the winner of each group will be able to select one of the bottom two teams from the opposite group. Teams from the same group will not face off against each other until the Quarter-finals.

Throughout the event, the Global Ban and Pick format will be implemented. Each team can ban four heroes per game, with the banned heroes remaining unavailable for selection for the remainder of the series.

The Grand Final will use the Ultimate Battle mode, an unrestricted draft where both teams can select the same heroes as part of their compositions.

The eight teams in attendance will compete for a share of a $100,000 (~£74,586) prize pool, with $35,000 (~£26,106) going to the winner.

As a result of the number of teams decreasing from 12 to eight, the prize pool for KIS4 is $200,000 (~£149,210) less than that of Season 3.
