Esports betting solutions company Oddin.gg now has its seventh license in North America after being approved as a sports betting vendor in Maryland.
With this new approval, Oddin.gg can now offer its B2B esports betting services to licensed operators in Maryland, joining its current presence in Arizona, New Jersey, Colorado, West Virginia, Ohio, and Ontario, Canada.
According to Oddin,gg, total sports betting in Maryland exceeded $6.6bn (~£4.84bn) in 2025, making the state a highly competitive regulated betting market on the East Coast.
The University of Maryland’s Terps Esports programme, which competes in the Big Esports Conference with 17 other American universities, is also one example of the state’s growing esports scene.
Growing Esports Betting Demand in North America
The Maryland licence gives Oddin.gg regulated access to another jurisdiction where interest in esports betting is expanding.
Around 23% of US sports bettors now place wagers on esports, making it one of the fastest-growing betting categories in the market.
With more states and provinces regulating online betting, North America accounts for over 40% of global esports betting revenue in 2024, according to Oddin, reflecting strong uptake in both the US and Canada.
Commenting on the company’s latest approval, Co-Founder and Managing Director Marek Suchar said: “Maryland represents an important addition to our North American regulatory footprint. The state’s strong sports betting performance and growing esports community create an ideal environment for operators to deliver market-leading esports betting experiences.”
Oddin.gg stated that the license will strengthen its ability to support partners in Maryland as esports continues to gain traction among bettors.
