The final day of the Equal Esports Cup (EEC) Group Stage saw many surprise results that completely changed the order of Group B.

Galions Pearl and Supernova Comets must face each other in a tiebreaker match for their chance to qualify for the playoffs.

Partly thanks to SK Gaming Avarosa, who defeated the former first-place team to place them in the tiebreaker.

New Esports World Cup censorship questions rise after Team Liquid LGBTQ+ segments edited in Saudi Arabia

Information published by esports journalist Mikhail Kilmentov sparks new Esports World Cup censorship controversy. 

In the Esports World Cup: Level Up Amazon Prime documentary series, a segment regarding Team Liquid’s support for the LGBTQ+ community is allegedly removed for viewers in Saudi Arabia. 

Images of the Team Liquid Pride jersey’s rainbow flag elements are also blurred or deliberately obscured in editing. 

LGBTQ+ inclusion and commentary in the unedited version of Level Up Episode 2

Starting from timestamp 04:36 in Episode 2 of Esports World Cup: Level Up, Team Liquid co-CEO Steve Arhancet provides important context regarding the team’s participation in the Esports World Cup. 

He openly states in the segment, “In preparation for EWC, I have been pretty conflicted, personally.” He also noted that he found it “difficult to participate” in the Riyadh-hosted event given his identity as a member of the LGBTQ+ community. 

Gaming is for everyone, no matter who you are and where you come from.

The Korean midlaner joined the co-streamer after a very close five-game series against T1.

It was the reigning World Champions, T1, versus reigning MSI champions, Gen.G, in an exhilarating match-up in which the latter came out on top.

Chovy and Gen.G have now qualified for the LoL MSI 2025 final, where they’ll face either Anyone’s Legend, Bilibili Gaming or T1 again.

Boaster pulls Gardevoir, advances to Valorant EWC 2025 playoffs

Britain’s Valorant legend, Jake ‘Boaster’ Howlett had luck on his side in and outside of the server at EWC as Fnatic advanced 2-0 through the so-called Group of Death.

Fnatic defeated 100T in a tight BO1 13-11 victory on Icebox. The roster lost control of the series after a 9-3 first half, but got it over the line. Against Gen.G, it was the Koreans’ turn to lose a 9-3 lead, as Fnatic rallied to take the first map in overtime before going back to Icebox, where they looked comfortable in a 13-7 victory.
