British LoL talent Aux to feature at Esports World Cup

The Esports World Cup (EWC) has announced the broadcast talent for the League of Legends (LoL) tournament.

The lineup features many talents that weren’t featured at the current Mid-Season Invitational (MSI), including British caster Dan ‘Aux’ Harrison.

Set to take place just a few days after the ongoing MSI, on Wednesday, July 16th.

They’re ready and they’ve got all the lanes covered!

New national esports arena in the UK set to open in 2026

British Esports has announced that its flagship gaming and esports arena in Sunderland is set to open in 2026.

Development of the venue has been given the green light after finances were approved by a leading High Street bank.

Work will begin on the arena in September 2025 and is then due to open sometime in Q1 2026.

The 15,000-square-foot arena will be the first of its kind in Europe, according to British Esports.

EA Sports pay tribute to Diogo Jota in FC 25

EA Sports have announced that Diogo Jota’s cards in FC 25 Ultimate Team will be price locked to the current market’s price ranges.

Additionally, EA have stated that, out of respect, Jota’s cards will no longer appear in Ultimate Team packs.

The news comes after Liverpool and Wolves forward Diogo Jota sadly passed away on Thursday in a car crash.

This is the the usual process EA Sports have taken in the past after footballers have tragically passed away.

Supernova Comets now tie with  Evie ‘Pivotless’ Pullen and Solary Academy for second place in their group.

Other British talents at the tournament once again struggled to find success against the likes of Supernova Comets and G2 Hel.

The classic Europe versus North America rivalry in League of Legends is about to come to a head at MSI.

The LEC’s second seeds, G2 Esports, will take on the LTA North champions FlyQuest in a 4th of July clash on North American soil.

While the match is in Canada, which already celebrated its equivalent holiday on July 1st, there will still be fireworks once the series concludes.

OG Esports announces open trials for Marvel Rivals esports

Danish esports organisation OG Esports are hosting open trials to scout Marvel Rivals esports talent.

This news comes after the current OG Seed team failed to qualify for the EMEA Marvel Rivals Ignite – Stage 1 Playoffs.

Consequently, this meant OG didn’t get to compete to qualify for the Mid-Season Finals and are now on a break.

They aren’t alone as EMEA favourites Virtus.Pro will also miss Marvel Rivals’ first esports LAN after a shock elimination from the Stage 1 Playoffs.

British broadcast talent lineup for Valorant Esports World Cup

The Esports World Cup (EWC) has announced the broadcast talent for its upcoming Valorant tournament.

The talent lineup features British and Irish talent, including Iain Chambers, Tom ‘Tombizz’ Bissmire, Mitch ‘MitchMan’ McBride, and Morgan ‘BigTime’ Jay.

Valorant at the EWC is set to kick off on Tuesday, July 8th, just a few weeks after the conclusion of Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) Masters Toronto.

Diogo Jota’s history and legacy in gaming and esports

Late Liverpool and Portugal winger and striker Diogo Jota was one of football’s biggest esports advocates.

Jota was an accomplished footballer, recently winning the Premier League with Liverpool and the UEFA Nations League with Portugal.

And he was also a huge gaming and esports fan. Jota was almost as talented at gaming as he was on the football pitch.

Diogo Jota sadly passed away in a tragic car accident at the age of 28 in July 2025.
