Valorant to celebrate fifth anniversary with events across the UK

Riot Games is hosting special events across the UK and Ireland to mark the five-year anniversary of Valorant.

The events will be staged between June 7th and 13th, with Riot Games also hosting events in Norway, Finland, and Sweden around those dates.

These celebrations will take place at various Riot Play Clubs. Five-year anniversary cupcakes will be made and there will also be Valorant-themed party games including pass the parcel and a pinata.

Ireland qualify for IESF European Esports Championship for the first time

Team Ireland has qualified for the IESF European Esports Championship Counter-Strike tournament for the first time.

It comes at the third time of asking after Ireland failed to qualify for IESF events in 2023 and 2024 – despite coming close at their first attempt.

Ireland topped their group with three wins out of three to automatically qualify for the championship. If they had failed to finish top, they would have had to play in a second group stage and perhaps have to go through a last-chance qualifier bracket.

UK stores to hold midnight launch for Nintendo Switch 2

UK retailer Smyths Toys has announced it will hold midnight launch events for the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 across all stores in the United Kingdom.

Stores will be open from 12:01am to 12:30am on Thursday, June 5th. This will allow those who pre-ordered via the retailer to collect the console at midnight and play immediately.

‘Limited stock available’ at Nintendo Switch 2 midnight launch

Smyths has also confirmed that it will have a “limited stock of Nintendo Switch 2 available for purchase”.

Los Ratones have defeated Nord Esports to become the Northern League of Legends Championship 2025 Spring Champions.

The crowd favourite team took the crown at Leagues Disrupt at the K.B. Hallen in Copenhagen, Denmark.

They’ll now head to compete at the EMEA Masters 2025 Spring in just a few days time.

Los Ratones defeat Nord Esports

The British team, led by streamer Marc ‘Ceadrel’ Lamont, took down the Scandinavia-based organisation Nord Esports in a 3-0 series.

GenG finished the regular season of the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) Rounds 1-2 with a flawless series record of 18-0, claiming the coveted title of ‘the perfect split’.

The Northern League of Legends Championship (NLC) 2025 Spring Finals has finally arrived at the legendary K.B. Hallen in Copenhagen, Denmark.

After a slew of tech issues and delays, the finals kicked off to the fans’ delight.

Los Ratones came out on top after a swift series against fellow British-based team, Ruddy Sack.

They’ll now face Nord Esports in the Grand Finals tomorrow at 10am BST.

Austin Major features British talent as part of broadcast line-up

The broadcasting talent for the Blast Austin Major has been revealed with six British names in the line-up.

Counter-Strike teams including Team Vitality, G2 Esports, and Team Liquid are among 32 outfits competing in the tournament which runs from June 3nd to June 22nd in Austin, Texas.

The event which will take place at the Moody Center, will see teams compete for a share of the $1.25m (£930,000) prize pool. Whichever team wins the event will receive $500,000 (£370,000).
