BESTIA threaten legal action over BLAST Austin Major visa dispute

After missing deadlines for confirming Visa acquisition, the Argentine Counter-Strike team BESTIA has had its right to compete in the upcoming Austin Major revoked by tournament organisers BLAST. In retaliation, BESTIA now publicly claimed to be pursuing legal action. 

The decision by BLAST has triggered backlash from both competitors and fans, including other participants in the Austin Major. 

BLAST’s initial announcement – May 21st

On May 21st, BLAST released a statement announcing that BESTIA would no longer be competing at the Austin Major tournament, which is slated to begin on June 3rd 2025.

Pokémon Legends Z-A release date confirmed

GameFreak have confirmed that Pokémon Legends Z-A will release on the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 in the UK and worldwide on October 16, 2025.

It has been more than a year since the last major Pokémon release. Combine that with the imminent launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 and you have the community’s excitement at an all-time high.

The Legends ZA will immediately become a flagship title for the new console, which releases in the UK on June 5th, alongside Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bonanza.

The teams for Dota 2 PGL Wallachia Season 5 have all been confirmed, with British esports holding a strong hand in the upcoming competition.

It isn’t long until Season 5 gets underway with the event taking place between June 21-29, in Bucharest, Romania.

The event won’t be open to a public audience with PGL Studios hosting the tournament behind closed doors.

Rematch will feature legendary Ronaldinho and Manchester United Star Mainoo as playable characters

The online 5-a-side football game Rematch, created by Sifu developers Sloclap, is welcoming some superstar additions ahead of its official release.

Legendary Brazil and Barcelona trickster Ronaldinho, England and Manchester United starlet Kobbie Mainoo, and Germany and Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-André Ter Stegen have all been confirmed as playable characters in Rematch.

The news comes after a behind-the-scenes video released by the development team showed Ronaldinho visiting Slocap’s studios in Paris to learn about Rematch’s development and react to his in-game likeness.

After Sean Gares catapulted accusations of Tier 2 and 3 match fixing into the spotlight, Mrfunhaver asserted that the competitive ecosystem relies on his contributions, citing his significant financial and personal investment as crucial to its survival. 

He also singles out the lack of publisher support from Riot Games in the post’s comments.

Creatures Inc. and DeNA have announced major changes are coming to ranked mode in Pokemon TCG Pocket, which will make the game more enjoyable for the majority of players.

Ranked mode has been out for a couple of months now and many players have already been struggling with the grind, but this is seemingly about to change.

Esports World Cup: Level Up documentary coming to Prime Video

Amazon’s Prime Video are releasing a five-part documentary series which takes a look behind the scenes of the inaugural Esports World Cup in 2024.

The major event held tournaments for 22 different game titles, including League of Legends, Counter-Strike, and Call of Duty, with a combined prize pool of $62.5 million (£46m).

The Esports World Cup: Level Up documentary will premiere on Friday, June 6th, with subsequent episodes releasing weekly.

The series has been produced by Sony Pictures Television’s documentary filmmakers ‘This Machine’ and has been directed by Emmy Award-winning director R.J.
