Confirming the first 6 Fissure Playground 2 teams

The VRS Global Rankings determine all of the 16 Fissure Playground 2 teams. Six teams have already confirmed their place in the Belgrade, Serbia LAN competition. 

As of August 6th, the teams confirmed are:

• G2 Esports 
• Virtus.pro 
• Astralis

Valve has revealed the regional distribution of major slots for the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025, which remain unchanged from the BLAST.tv Austin Major, however, all slots for Budapest will be decided by direct invitation based on VRS rank.

The first major of the year, the BLAST.tv Austin Major, did not include invites to Stage 1. Instead, it included qualification slots for MRQs, qualifying tournaments from which teams ranked below the Stage 2 & 3 teams could qualify for the major.

From jumpship changes to audio overload and accolades, there has been plenty to discuss in the first 24 hours of Season 26.

DING DING DING DING… Accolades feature attacked for sound bug 

Immediately post-launch, players and pros identified a bug with the game’s newly introduced Accolades feature. 

In the Apex Legends S26 patch notes, EA and Respawn Entertainment explain that Accolades have been introduced as a way to “recognise players and their squadmates for all that they do during a match – not just winning.” 

However, “all that they do” was taken to the extreme.

Marvel Rivals Ignite 2025 Mid Season Finals’ Play-ins have now been settled, meaning we know every team competing in the main stage of the event.

Third Americas seed, ENVY, and second EMEA seed, Rad EU, have qualified for the main stage following the Play-in section of the event, eliminating Nova Esports and one of the esports betting sites favourites Gen.G in the process.

Gen.G fell to ENVY in the first round 2-0 before falling to the same scoreline against Nova Esports in the lower-bracket.
