Riot Games has announced that it has issued sanctions to both Forsaken and Bushido Wildcats at EMEA Masters Summer 2025, one of the most popular tier two events in League of Legends.
Following an investigation into reports of inappropriate social media activity regarding Forsaken, it has been found that both teams have breached its Esports Global Code of Conduct.
In a statement, Riot Games shared: “After reviewing reports regarding social media activity involving several team members yesterday, Riot Games has completed its investigation and confirmed breaches of the Riot Games Esports Global Code of Conduct.”
The developer also shared that it will continue to review additional activity from other sources during EMEA Masters 2025.
Sanctions include the two-match suspension of Forsaken player Dawid ‘Melonik‘ Ślęczka for breaching general obligations and vulgar/provocative language.
Teams Forsaken and Bushido Wildcats have received warnings for breaching obligations, using vulgar language, and, in Forsaken’s case, an additional breach involving team leadership.
Finally, the CEO of Turkish esports organisation MISA Esports, Ziyad Apaydin, was also given a warning for breaching general obligations, using provocative language, and failing to uphold the role of team leadership.
What Happened?
Riot Games began the investigation on October 8th following reports of an inappropriate celebration from Team Forsaken during the EMEA Masters 2025 Summer split Last Chance Qualifier match against Rich Gang Esports.
The celebration was broadcast during Jakub ‘Cinkrof‘ Rokicki’s livestream (around 3-hour 33-minute mark). During the Swiss Stage, an online feud commenced between the teams, players, and communities of both Forsaken and Bushido Wildcats, where inappropriate language was used in multiple public arguments.
EMEA Masters 2025 Summer Enters Playoffs
The tier two League of Legends tournament has concluded its Swiss Stage, moving on to the Playoffs. The top 16 teams will compete in a single-elimination bracket, featuring BO5 matches, for a place in the Grand Finals. The winner will receive the lion’s share of its €100,000 (~£86,800) prize pool.
