Web3 developer platform XBorg has announced a partnership with esports organisation Cloud9.
The partnership will see XBorg aim to enhance Cloud9’s fan experience by bringing a Copilot to its platforms to generate personalised campaigns for fans.
In its announcement, XBorg shared that the challenge was to provide a ‘tailored experience’ to Cloud9’s fans. The deal will see the implementation of FanBase, an AI-powered infrastructure, into Cloud9’s platform Club9.
Fanbase is a Copilot that looks to improve challenges, rewards and content on the platform, gamifying the fan experience.
Jonathan Tran, President of Cloud9, commented: “At Cloud9, our community has always been at the heart of everything we do. Partnering with XBorg allows us to take that connection even further and empower Club9 to deliver more personalised, rewarding, and interactive experiences to our fans.
“Cloud9 has always pushed boundaries in how we engage our community, and I am excited to show fans what we’ve been preparing for 2026.”
XBorg has worked with other esports companies in 2025, entering partnerships and building fan apps with teams like Evil Geniuses and JD Gaming.
AI in Esports
It is not the first time Cloud9 has welcomed AI into its fan engagement efforts, having previously partnered with cloud infrastructure provider Theta Network to develop Nimbus, a branded AI chatbot aiming to connect with esports fans.
Cloud9 also partnered with Czech software development tool creator JetBrains. The deal saw JetBrains become the organisation’s official AI-powered coding partner, supporting content creation and the launch of the Hackathon event.
Other organisations have also partnered with AI providers. Theta Network has partnered with teams such as 100 Thieves, in addition to NRG and its ‘Volt’ AI bot, Evil Geniuses and its AI mascot ‘Meesh’, and Dignitas with its ‘Digi’ AI agent.
Teams are not the only ones working with AI, as peripheral brand Razer has been working on multiple AI-focused projects in 2025. It revealed an AI esports coach called Project AVA at the tech trade show CES 2025, providing real-time feedback to players to help them improve.
