G2 Esports has won Red Bull Home Ground 2025 by defeating VALORANT Champions 2025 winner NRG in today’s Grand Final.
With a dominant 3-0 statement, G2 has now lifted its second Home Ground trophy following the inaugural edition in 2021.
Home Ground is an annual VALORANT OFF//SEASON tournament hosted by energy drink brand Red Bull.
This year’s edition took place at New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom from November 13th to 16th. While eight teams were directly invited to the Main Event, eleven squads had to first fight through the Play-In Stage.
The Main Event saw ten rosters, including Cloud9 and T1, compete in a double-elimination bracket. All matches, except for the final three, were best-of-ones (BO1s).
G2 Esports’ Lower Bracket Run
G2 headed to Red Bull Home Ground shortly after announcing the departure of Jonah ‘JonahP‘ Pulice.
The open slot was filled by Andrej ‘babybay’ Francisty, who had previously subbed in for G2’s Nathan ‘leaf’ Orf during VCT Americas Stage 2. Babybay is also rumoured to become part of the roster’s regular lineup for next year’s season.
Despite having dominated the VCT Americas circuit this year, G2 had a rough start in New York. The team was quickly sent to the lower bracket after losing its opening match to Japanese opponent ZETA DIVISION (7-13).
From that point onwards, G2 had to survive against Americas rivals Cloud9 (13-11) and Sentinels (13-8), as well as EMEA powerhouse Fnatic (15-13). In the Lower Bracket Final, the squad then took revenge against ZETA (2-0) to qualify for today’s final showdown.
G2 Esports Clean Sweeps NRG

G2’s Grand Final opponent was none other than 2025 Champion NRG. The fellow North American esports organisation debuted its 2026 VCT roster in New York, which sees Georgio ‘keiko’ Sanassy replace Sam ‘s0m’ Oh during his competitive break.
Although NRG had remained undefeated at Home Ground until the Grand Final, the roster couldn’t secure a single map in the BO3 series against G2.
In the first map, G2 became the first team to defeat NRG on Corrode (13-10) by starting an impressive comeback at 1-8. This momentum carried over into the following two maps. G2 cleanly took Split (13-4) and Pearl (13-7) to earn its second Home Ground trophy.
G2’s Alexander ‘jawgemo’ Mor emerged as the highest-fragging player of the final. The duelist player achieved a 54/37/11 KDA and an ACS of 241.
