Chinese esports organisation JD Gaming (JDG) has officially announced the signing of jungler Yu ‘JunJia‘ Chun-Chia and mid laner Tsai ‘HongQ‘ Ming-Hong.
The two former CTBC Flying Oyster (CFO) players will team up once again, this time under a JDG roster that aims to achieve domestic and international success in 2026.
Junjia and HongQ have signed after recording an incredible 2025 LCP season with CFO. As the best team from the Asian-pacific league, CFO were the only team in the entire LoL Esports ecosystem to have competed in every international tournament in the past year. Moreover, the organisation was able to go toe-to-toe with top teams such as T1 and Anyone’s Legend. The team finished at the League of Legends World Championship with a top-eight finish after being eliminated by the finalist KT Rolster.
For Junjia, this marks a return to the LPL after his last run as a substitute jungler on EDward Gaming, the last LPL team to have won a League of Legends world championship. HongQ, on the other hand, is set to have his debut in the Chinese league after being widely considered one of the most promising rookies of the 2025 season, despite him just turning 18 this year.
JDG Wants to Compete for Success
With Junjia and HongQ joining, JDG has announced four of its five starting players. Top laner will be Xu ‘Xiaoxu’ Xing-Zu, who played for the team in the LPL third split in 2025, while the new support player will be Zhao ‘Vampire’ Zhe-Can, previously of Team WE.
That being said, the most important pickup of the offseason by JDG is arguably head coach Wong ‘Tabe‘ Pak Kan, who led Anyone’s Legend in 2024 and 2025. Over the past few years, Tabe has repeatedly led his squads to great domestic and international success, including BiliBili Gaming in 2023 and Royal Never Give Up (RNG) before that.
In terms of lineup, the only player left to be announced is the ADC position, which is currently rumoured to be filled by former Invictus Gaming ADC Chen ‘GALA’ Wei. If that were the case, JDG would have a formidable roster to compete in 2026. The organisation will be hoping to overturn its 2025 campaign, which saw the team miss out on every international competition and only finish sixth in the LPL Split 3.
