Rainbow Six esports teams up with Xbox Game Pass for 2025 season

The Rainbow Six esports circuit, managed by tournament organiser BLAST, has unveiled a partnership with Xbox Game Pass for the 2025 season.

This collaboration will see Rainbow Six and Xbox Game Pass host a variety of online and in-person activations throughout the year.

The partnership kicked off with the Re:L0:AD tournament in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from May 10-18th, 2025. This event marks the start of the Rainbow Six esports season and will feature all 20 organisations participating in the circuit’s R6 Share program.

Falcons Vega claimed the title after defeating the defending Red Bull Instalock 2024 champions G2 Gozen, in an intense Grand Final.

Team Liquid announces Pride month plans ahead of Esports World Cup in Saudi Arabia

Team Liquid have announced they will continue to celebrate Pride month and advocate for LGBTQ+ rights after confirming their participation at the Esports World Cup in Saudi Arabia later this year.

The organisation’s pro players will continue to wear Pride jerseys throughout June and July across the globe and Liquid will donate proceeds to LGBTQ+ organisations in North America, Europe, and Brazil.

Team Liquid will also continue donating $50k (£38k) to Rainbow Railroad, a not-for-profit organisation that helps at-risk LGBTQ+ people get to safety worldwide.

With the Nintendo Switch 2 launch on the horizon, gamers are making room for new titles, but new research reveals they may be overlooking a treasure trove of valuable retro video games.

Currys has produced a list of the most valuable retro games, including titles for the Nintendo 64, PlayStation 2, Game Boy and NES.

Topping the list is a graded copy of Streets of Rage for the Sega Mega Drive, valued at nearly £40,000 based on recent sales.

Popular fighting game pro, Victor Woodley, also known as ‘Punk’, has blamed a PlayStation 5 malfunction for his loss at Evo Japan over the weekend.

The malfunction has caused problems at other fighting game tournaments this year and PS5 is yet again getting the blame.

Punk threatens to not play

Punk was so annoyed at the malfunctions in the tournament that he took to X after his loss at Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves to vent his frustrations at the tournament organisers.

Marvel Rivals $3m Ignite esports tournament schedule confirmed

Marvel Rivals’ biggest-ever esports event, Ignite,  begins later this May as NetEase Games has confirmed the first details for the event.

The hero shooter’s competitive scene is rapidly growing as former Overwatch pro Félix ‘xQc’ Lengyel hosted a $250k (£190k) tournament for streamers last week, with British creator Sweet Anita part of the winning team.

Now, Marvel Rivals’ esports scene is getting similar investment with a prize pool of over $3m (£2.24m) and a top prize of $1m (£750k), making Ignite by far the game’s most lucrative event.

London-based team Fnatic have successfully qualified for the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) Masters Toronto after defeating Team Liquid in the VCT EMEA Stage 1 Playoffs.
Fnatic defeated Team Liquid in a 2-0 series

The series saw the two sides fight until the bitter end, as the match was pushed to overtime on the final map.

Each team’s momentum was in constant flux throughout the match. Fnatic took map 1 on Split with 13 rounds to Team Liquid’s 10.

British esports organisation, Fnatic, and McDonald’s UK have announced a brand-new partnership centred around special promotional events throughout the year.

To celebrate the start of the latest partnership between an esports organisation and a food brand, Fnatic opened their London HQ to promote the new McSpicy chicken burger with Frank’s RedHot sauce.

In attendance at this special launch event were numerous influencers and Fnatic staff, who were treated to the newest version of the McSpicy with an extra punch of spice from Frank’s RedHot.
