Caliste beats Skewmond to LEC Rookie of the Year 2025 award

Karmine Corp ADC Caliste ‘Caliste’ Henry-Hennebert has been named the LEC 2025 Rookie of the Year.

The 19-year-old Frenchman was handed the award before KCorp battled with Fnatic in the LEC Summer Split Playoffs.

Caliste defeated stern competition, as a lot of rookies had very good debut years in the LEC this season.

This comes after the LEC Rookie of the Year award criteria changed to allow Summer debutants to compete in the following year.

Fnatic qualify for LoL Worlds 2025 and eliminate Karmine Corp

Fnatic have progressed through the LEC Summer Playoff Finals and booked their place at the League of Legends World Championships.

The prestigious EMEA organisation qualified for LoL Worlds for the ninth consecutive year after defeating Karmine Corp 3-1.

This means LEC Winter Champions and First Stand attendees KCorp have been eliminated from Worlds contention and their season is over.

Fnatic will represent the LEC at the international tournament, but first will be focused on battling Movistar KOI and G2 Esports for the LEC title.

UK regulator Ofcom has proposed new online safety guidelines which could prevent teenagers from making a living by streaming.

The proposed rule changes are to help protect teenagers from being groomed online and stop the viral sharing of illegal content.

Ofcom wants to restrict under-18s’ livestreams, with no commenting, gifting, reacting to or recording of their livestreams allowed.

Devon Pritchard will take over the position. A long-term executive at Nintendo of Americas, Pritchard is currently the vice president of revenue, marketing, and consumer experience at Nintendo of America.

Satoru Shibata will take the role of CEO. Having previously been the president of Nintendo of Europe, Shibata will work as CEO while continuing his existing roles of managing executive officer and corporate director.

EA FC 26 doesn’t have enough national teams for a World Cup

EA Sports FC 26 has been released with over 750 playable teams to choose from. However, there is a major lack of national teams.

For some reason, New Zealand have been removed and there are now only 28 international teams in the game.

That is especially concerning, considering EA FC 26 is expected to have a licensed World Cup mode.

There are not enough teams for a regular 32-team tournament, let alone for the 48-team format that will debut in 2026.
