Mongolian tournament organiser MESA allegedly owe $200,000 to unpaid teams and talent

Mongolian Tournament Organiser MESA (the Mongolian Esports Association) is allegedly indebted to teams and talent by at least $200,000 USD (~£146,500 GBP).

Although payment terms state that the organisation still has time to fulfil its prize pool obligations, teams owed are questioning why adequate funds were not acquired pre-tournament. 

Unpaid broadcast talent across multiple tournaments put pressure on MESA

Multiple sources initially reached out to Pley.gg with allegations that they had not been paid for their work at MESA events, verified as amounting to over $200,000 USD.

Counter-Strike legend dupreeh announces new FPS ‘Skyward Masters’

Legendary former Counter-Strike pro Peter ‘dupreeh’ Rasmussen has revealed a new arena-FPS game called Skyward Masters.

The Frenchman has invested in the game and helped directly with game development.

Five-time major winner dupreeh has partnered with Astralis co-founder Frederik Byskov and three other Danish founders.

Skyward Masters is a fast-paced arena shooter FPS where four teams battle on floating islands in an ever-changing environment.

The game has been in development for two and a half years by the three original co-founders of the development team Trinor Entertainment.

Study finds a quarter of young males in the UK want to be esports pros

A recent survey has revealed that almost a quarter of young boys are interested in pursuing a career in esports.

The survey was commissioned by UK-based safeguarding charity Ygam and online parenting forum Mumsnet.

Ygam previously launched an esports and gaming harm prevention programme aimed at creating safe spaces for young people to game.

🎮 The average time children spend gaming has increased to 20.4 hours per week, up from 16.8 hours in 2024.
