Battlefield 6: Best Portal maps

After blasting through the main modes of Battlefield 6, now’s the best time to take a break from the all-out warfare to check out content created by the community. Portal is one of BF6’s main features, where players can create their own game modes and maps using the in-game creation tools.

However, browsing through the community experiences can be a disappointing affair since it’s mostly filled with XP farm maps. But don’t let that deter you, because some real gems are waiting to be discovered (and their servers populated). Let’s parachute straight into the best Portal maps in Battlefield 6.

Snipers vs Runners (Duck Hunt) is a simple but fun parkour map that pits two teams against each other. The Runners team has to navigate upward through a chaotic building filled with jumping challenges over broken obstacles, while the Snipers are perched far away, trying to take them down. The game ends when either one runner reaches the end or all of them are eliminated.

These compact sessions are ideal for quick breaks between the regular playlist. However, it’s also a playground to warm up practical skills for real games. For runners, it’s a chance to test out Battlefield’s smooth movement. As for snipers, there’s no better training ground for how to hit multiple moving targets. 

In Ace Pursuit, you’ll enter into Battlefield 6’s fighter jets and race through the dangerous aerial course carved into canyons and marked by floating waypoints. The simple goal of reaching the finish line as fast as possible is already difficult because of the winding patterns and tight obstacles, but there are also other players to worry about. 

It’s thrilling since you’ll need to focus on the track while also dodging and dogfighting against other pilots. You can also fight back by shooting them out of the sky and even ramming them if you’re petty enough. 

Ace Pursuit gives you the hardest trials by putting your flying and combat skills to the test, making going back to regular games a cakewalk in comparison. It’s the most liked experience for a good reason.

Besieged puts you and up to three squadmates up against an escalating horde of bots in this wave-based survival mode. After every wave, the enemies grow stronger, even learning new tricks and powers. You and your squad need to keep up with them by using the cash earned from kills, using it to buy weapons, gadgets, or more redeployments (extra lives).

Besieged is a standout game mode if you can get a good group, since it escalates astronomically fast. The standard infantry combat shifts to a PvE challenge, and it’s all about surviving rather than pushing objectives. Besieged pushes you to have a deeper understanding of BF6’s gadgets and loadouts, since you’ll need more than raw firepower to endure.

Exfil is a fast-paced twist on an extraction shooter, creating one of the most fun Portal maps in BF6. Before you scroll away, this isn’t the typical extraction shooter like Arc Raiders or BF2042’s massive flop Hazard Zone. 

Squads will compete against each other to chase down a supply drop by climbing and parkouring through the rooftops of Cairo. Once a squad gets hold of the package, they’ll have to take it to a designated area to extract and close out the game. As you can imagine, this isn’t an easy task, and you’ll need to use good movement to keep and aim to chase squads or escape with the package.

As the name rightly suggests, Chaos Climb is a Portal map where you’ll climb an extremely steep slope while racing against other teams. What’s stopping you and your squad is a barrage of debris, vehicles, and even planes randomly crashing around the area, creating this mayhem that words can’t describe. 

It’s an adrenaline-pumping hazard course while also being so ridiculous that you can’t help but laugh when a flaming tank comes barreling in your direction. 

For players complaining about the cramped and narrow maps in BF6’s normal playlist, Clubhouse is a large, outdoor Conquest map where you can expect action happening all over the zones. The map features urban areas for infantry, layered hilltops for snipers, and a wide-open air space that’s perfect for helicopter fights.

The community has fallen in love with this map, as it’s a literal breath of fresh air compared to the cramped maps. Hopefully, Battlefield Studios will take a page from Counter-Strike and feature this map to populate its servers.

Battlefield 6’s Portal is a step in the right direction for the longevity and variety of the game, especially with the devs’ consistent support for its tools and map editor. While this collection of BF6’s best Portal maps showcases the creativity of the community, the sad reality is that it’s a struggle to find populated servers for these, as it’s diluted with XP farming experiences.

BF6 has something special here, and they can do more to promote the best community maps. If they don’t do something soon, then they’re just repeating the same mistakes they made with BF 2042 by letting it fall into obscurity.
