Dota 2 makes some huge changes in ‘Spring Forward’ update

Valve has launched the latest Dota 2 update and its a big one, with the Spring Forward patch bringing some big changes to the game.

The update went live on May 22nd, with players surprised by the gameplay update that is set to bring new items as well as increased quality of life in game.

Los Ratones sweep past Verdant to secure place at Leagues Disrupt

British-based Los Ratones have secured the final spot at the Northern League of Legends Championship (NLC) 2025 Spring Split Finals held at League Disrupt, after defeating fellow British team Verdant.

Owned by the popular streamer and recent Red Bull athlete, Marc ‘Caedrel’ Lamont, the team appears to be back in form and an unstoppable force once again.

The NLC Finals will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark, as part of the Leagues Disrupt event, featuring the NLC grand final, various performances, and entertainment.

Insomnia Gaming Festival to return in 2026

Insomnia Gaming Festival, one of the biggest gaming events in the UK, is set to return in Spring 2026 according to the official Insomnia Twitter account.

The official bio of the Insomnia Twitter account was also changed to: “We said we’d be back…”

The news comes after the event’s organiser, Player1 Events, went into liquidation a year ago.

Insomnia featured esports tournaments, community activities, a games expo, creator gatherings, panels and more, and took place twice a year before it closed last year.

British Esports expands advisory board with addition of Lewis Kay

British Esports has expanded its advisory board with the addition of Lewis Kay to its ranks.

Kay is the co-founder and managing director of Esports Youth Club and has significant experience in youth engagement and grassroots sports.

He has assisted in hosting esports-themed events and gaming sessions for young people around south London. The Esports Youth Club has reached thousands of young people.

The club runs free daily gaming sessions with hot meals and snacks, with hubs in West Norwood, Lewisham, Lambeth and Southwark.

Monster Hunter announces collaboration with Street Fighter 6

Monster Hunter Wilds has officially confirmed its new collaboration alongside Street Fighter 6 that will launch on May 28th.

This isn’t the first Street Fighter collaboration of the year, as the game also teamed up with Overwatch 2 at the beginning of May to produce eight new crossover skins.

What will the Monster Hunter x Street Fighter 6 collaboration include?

Players will be able to get a free new armour during the collaboration, with the ‘Akuma hunter layered armour’ going live when the update launches at the end of May.

GeoGuessr has withdrawn from the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, following community backlash.

The news comes just one week after the popular Geography game announced they would be joining the Esports World Cup.

It was met with backlash among the GeoGuessr community. A group of map creators pulled their contributions from the game to protest its participation.

CyberShowdown took place on May 15th 2025 in the University of Chichester’s Bognor Regis campus, sponsored by NSE, Gamer vs Depression and ODD Trinket.

This Valorant showdown saw university teams across the Southeast of England come together to compete for a £300 prize pool, with rosters from Portsmouth, Winchester, Sussex, Chichester and Southampton representing their universities. The event was organised by esports students in collaboration with sports media students at the University of Chichester, combining expertise in esports plus cameras and lighting to deliver a a live esports event experience.
