Prior to Team Spirit announcing the signing of Andrey ‘tN1R’ Tatarinovich, the organisation released a statement regarding Myroslav ‘zont1x’ Plakhotia.

The statement outlined zont1x’s alleged request for time away from the game for personal reasons, thanking him for his contributions and stating “your return is highly anticipated.”

Later, zont1x posted on X, corroborating the statement. zont1x’s statement reads, “To anyone seeking more clarity regarding my departure from Team Spirit’s active roster

“After the major, I asked the management for a break from competing due to several personal reasons,” the Ukrainian revealed.

The Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) community had a lot to say about the move to bench Rhys ‘Zer0’ Perry from the Team Falcons Apex roster. From confusion to “I told you so,” a mixed response emerged.  

While Team Falcons have a reputation for roster changes in some of their other titles, such as Counter-Strike, the Falcons Apex roster has maintained the same core since they signed their first three players in May 2024.

On August 26, Endpoint co-founder and CEO, Adam Jessop, made a series of posts outlining Endpoint’s current relationship with esports.

Jessop stated, “As much as it pains myself and Pete, having a competitive esports team is not our core focus anymore… but for now we are focused on areas of the business that are showing growth.”

The statement was no surprise to fans of Endpoint’s esports division. November 2024 saw Endpoint remove itself from the RLCS for the 2025 season, before the decision was taken to pause its Counter-Strike division in February 2025.

Gabe ‘GabeN’ Newell appeared in the opening ceremony of The International 2025, in front of Hamburg’s Barclays Arena and over 100k fans watching on stream.

GabeN, president and co-founder of Valve, has several times noted his love for DotA 2 and is an active player of the game.

The remarks were made prior to TI’s playoffs commencing, with Xtreme Gaming taking on Tundra in the first series of the day.

The RLCS World Championship 2025 begins in earnest today as the Group Stage begins.

ROC Esports, NiP, Virtus.pro, and Gen.G made it through the brutal play-ins to qualify for the main event at the LDLC Arena.

The Play-ins saw TSM, FUT Esports, MIBR, and Shopify Rebellion fall.

Shopify Rebellion fans had high hopes for the competition, but Slater ‘Retals’ Thomas especially struggled, as SR underdelivered to fall out of the competition.

T1 defeated Dplus 3-2 in a back-and-forth series in the first round of the LCK 2025 Playoffs. The victory sets up an Upper Semis clash with Gen.G, who qualified directly to Round 2 as group winners.

Dplus had qualified to Playoffs through the play-in bracket, having started the split in the Rise Group. Yet, the team’s strong form showed as they pushed T1 to their limit at LoL Park.
