Opening fixtures for The International 2025 revealed ahead of Dota 2’s season-ending event

Valve has released the opening set of fixtures for Dota 2’s season-ending event, The International 2025.

The tournament is set to begin on Thursday, September 4th, with 16 teams heading to Hamburg, Germany, to take part.

On Tuesday morning, Valve confirmed the Round 1 matches, which will take place on the opening day.

IOC chief faces ‘conflict of interest’ claims over 2027 Olympic Esports Games

A senior International Olympic Committee (IOC) executive is under scrutiny over an alleged ‘conflict of interest’ over the 2027 Olympic Esports Games.

The appointment of Ng Ser Miang as chairman of the Olympic Esports Games has reportedly been questioned by a London-based law firm.

It has been reported by the Times that the firm are acting for an anonymous group of complainants, said to be connected to the IOC.

The IOC has defended the decision to appoint Ng Ser Miang, saying that any conflict of interest claims are unfounded.

The BLAST Open Fall teams have been confirmed through the Closed Qualifier. 

All six teams had to qualify through the Closed Qualifier Group Stage. Those who qualified will next compete in the Wembley OVO Arena in London, facing off in a Playoffs bracket to crown the winner of BLAST Open Fall 2025.

The six qualified BLAST Open Fall teams are as follows:

  • G2 Esports

The BLAST Open Fall Group Stage served as a Closed Qualifier for the LAN Playoffs, which will be held at Wembley OVO Arena.

Riot Games announce format changes to VCT Ascension EMEA 2025

Riot Games has unveiled significant format changes to the VCT Ascension EMEA 2025, including an expansion from six to eight Challengers teams.

The news was revealed on social media by Valorant Esports Product Manager Tomek Borowka, ahead of the VCT EMEA Stage 2 finals.

VCT Acension is a pivotal annual event for Valorant Challengers teams, offering the winner a one-year contract in the Valorant Champions Tour.

Promoted Ascension teams then either qualify for Valorant Champions or reach the regional VCT Stage 2 Playoffs to defend their tier-one rights at the next Ascension tournament.

Porsche has launched the third season of the Porsche Esports Sprint Challenge GB, an entry-level competition for aspiring professional sim racers.

The competition, in collaboration with Motorsport UK Esports, will see participants compete for a chance to win a driving experience day at the Porsche Experience Centre at Silverstone.

Whoever wins the prize will drive Porsche 911 and 718 Cayman Models.

Magisk rejoins Astralis CS2 roster after he was benched by Falcons

Astralis has announced that Counter-Strike icon Emil ‘Magisk’ Reif has rejoined its CS2 roster after he was benched by the Falcons.

Magisk previously competed for Astralis between 2018 and 2021, winning three Major titles and an array of other Tier 1 tournaments during the game’s Global Offensive era.

His return to Astralis follows Martin ‘stavn’ Lund’s decision to step back from the starting lineup due to personal circumstances.

Astralis confirmed the news on the social media platform X on Monday morning.
