Are G Fuel shutting down? Nope, it’s just a strangely marketed rebrand.

Official G Fuel social media accounts posted that they are “logging out,” thanking the community for “the love, the grind, and the memories.” However, they are not actually shutting down. 

Their posts that suggest a concrete farewell are actually part of marketing their rebrand. However, the gaming and esports community are not happy with their tactics.

The G Fuel rebrand confusion: explained

On the evening of September 2nd, or early morning of September 3rd for the UK, G Fuel posted a seemingly heartfelt thanks to their community, stating “the end of an era” and that they were “logging off.” 

The energy drink company has long maintained ties with the gaming and esports communities, including through partnering with events such as the UK Esports Awards back in 2018.

Mayor Sadiq Khan expects CS2 BLAST Open to boost London economy by £30m

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan claims the Counter-Strike 2 BLAST Open is expected to generate £30 million for London’s economy.

The upcoming CS2 Major is taking place in Wembley’s OVO Hydro Arena, between September 5th and 7th.

The six BLAST Open Fall qualified teams will compete for a lion’s share of the $330k (£246k) prize pool.

The final eight teams have been confirmed for the inaugural League of Legends Game Changers Rising (LGC).

The tournament is Riot Games’ official women’s League of Legends tournament for EMEA.

It follows on from the success of the Game Changers events in Valorant, which are also only for women and anyone who identifies as a woman.

Marc ‘Caedrel’ Lamont has confirmed Los Ratones won’t skip EMEA Masters Summer despite it clashing with League of Legends Worlds.

The UK-registered team just won the NLC for the third consecutive split, defeating Verdant 3-0 at Leagues Disrupt.

While that result was never in doubt, Los Ratones’ attendance at the upcoming EMEA Masters in Paris was.

Valorant announces return of Pick’Ems for VCT Paris

Valorant has announced that Pick’Ems are returning for the upcoming Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) event in Paris.

VCT Paris begins on Friday, September 12th, and will feature 16 teams from across the world, competing for a $2.25m (£1.6m prize pool.

The return of Pick’Ems was revealed as part of the title’s 11.05 update notes published on Tuesday. This will be the build used for Valorant’s season-ending tournament in Paris, which will run until Sunday, October 5th.

Blitzcrank 2XKO gameplay revealed in new trailer

Blitzcrank has been officially unveiled as the latest champion in the upcoming 2XKO fighting game.

The League of Legends support will be a playable character in the 2XKO closed beta, which launches Tuesday, September 9th.

Riot Games plans to then keep the game online for the foreseeable future outside of maintenance, though no public release date has been announced.
