Natus Vincere to join LEC after acquiring Rogue’s slot

Counter-Strike and Dota 2 powerhouse Natus Vincere, also known as NAVI, acquire Rogue’s team slot to join the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC).

NAVI made an official announcement with a teaser clip on social media, while Riot Games also released a statement seemingly to distance themselves from the decision.

With the sale of Rogue’s LEC slot, half of the original LEC teams remain, which raises questions about the stability of the league.

Los Ratones has defeated Nord Esports at EMEA Masters, in a rematch of the Northern League of Legends Championship (NLC) Spring Finals.

The team owned by British streamer Marc ‘Caedrel’ Lamont repeated history after winning the series 3-0.

Their next opponent will be Turkish, BoostGate Esports, with British AD Carry player, Lim ‘ToongE’ Ho-seon.

After defeating Barça eSports in the lower bracket of their group, Los Ratones were set to rematch Nord Esports at EMEA Masters.

Ronaldo’s inclusion as a major household name is helping connect fans to the next generation of esports athletes, according to the Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF).

The news comes after the recent announcement of its Street Fighter 6 tournament, with a prize pool of $50k (~£37k).

UK Dota 2 cosplay personality Peachybell passes

British cosplay personality known for multiple appearances at Dota 2 events, Grace ‘Peachybell’ Bell, has passed away from leukaemia.

The 24-year-old’s battle with leukaemia sadly ended on May 23rd of this year.

According to close friend, Josh ‘bryndota’ Norris, she passed peacefully and surrounded by her loved ones.

The Dota 2 community will recognise Peachybell for her cosplays based on their beloved characters. 

She would regularly attend and compete in cosplay competitions at most Dota 2 LANs alongside several UK conventions and comic cons.

The teaser comes just over a week after the collaboration was leaked in-game, as players saw aespa brandished by one of the characters.

Esports World Cup announces $50k Street Fighter 6 Last Chance Qualifier

The Esports World Cup has announced a Last Chance Qualifier for its Street Fighter 6 2025 tournament in August.

The event will be open to all players, taking place at Boulevard City in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, between August 14th and 16th.

Street Fighter 6’s main event will then take place between August 21st and 23rd.

The Esports World Cup Foundation announced that the late qualifier will have space for 512 players to compete

Sign ups are opening soon on June 13th.

The writer and director of the critically acclaimed Past Lives and the upcoming Materialists, Celine Song, is set to delve into the world of esports.

Alongside indie darling A24 and TV powerhouse HBO, Song will be writing a new TV series, currently titled Damage.

Few details have been revealed, other than that the series will be “set against the high-stakes, cutthroat backdrop of the esports world,” according to film journalist Jeff Sneider.

Team Liquid has been eliminated from the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) Masters Toronto after losing to Pacific’s Paper Rex.

British player Georgio ‘keiko’ Sanassy was the star of the team, giving Team Liquid a chance to proceed in the tournament.

In an intense series that saw each player give their all, it was Paper Rex that came out on top to defeat Team Liquid 2-1.
