Four prominent UK esports organisations are gearing up to compete at the 2025 ALGS (Apex Legends Global Series) Open.

Annex, Forbidden Gaming, Team Nemesis and Exo Clan are among an unprecedented 160 teams taking part.

Other UK-based teams are also taking part, highlighting the UK’s growing influence in the esports scene.

With Team Nemesis riding high after a Pro League victory, the UK contingent is poised to put up a strong challenge.

A royal has paid a visit to an esports Youth Hub this week, with Prince William making an appearance at Mentivity community centre on Thursday afternoon.

After a brief conversation with the community centre leaders, the prince got straight down to business, as he found himself in front of a monitor playing on a Nintendo Switch console.

The king in waiting sat down with three young students from the area and he looked right at home as he selected his Mario Kart 8 character.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered has only been out for two days but seasoned speedrunners are already finding ways to beat the game as quickly as possible.

Players have quickly found ways to complete the game in well under 10 minutes despite the fact that the game is supposed to take around 27 to 28 hours to complete.

While the graphics have been updated drastically and look incredible compared to Bethesda’s original release back in 2006, the remaster is mostly still the same game.

The FIA, the global governing body of motorsports has introduced the FIA Girls on Track Esports Cup offering a sim racing competition for women.

This new global sim racing esports competition is exclusively for girls and women aged 16 or over regardless of their location or prior esports experience.

It is being organised in collaboration with Advanced SimRacing, a racing simulation rig manufacturer and popular sim racing platform, iRacing.

Interested participants must register for the event on the FIA’s website.
